Here are the guidelines:

  1. The signatures should be no wider than 600 pixels and no taller than 300 pixels. It is reccommened that they be smaller but these are the maximum size allowed.
  2. The website address “www.rsbandb.com” must be somewhere on the signature. It is suggested that it be low opacity, but it must be visible.
  3. Keep your stat signature as a .PSD and DO NOT merge the layers!
  4. Label your layers sensibly. It’s hard for the one coding to navigate through the layers that are named “Layer 1”, “Layer 2 “, “Layer 3”, etc…
  5. Group your layers. Group them according to text, backgrounds, boxes, icons, etc…
  6. Make sure there is room for expandability when another skill is released. If your signature is not expandable it will be retired when a new skill comes out.
  7. Send any special fonts along with your stat sig. You can zip, rar, or g-zip your files.

Please send a sample of the signature to Shane or Mike via PM. If we are going to use it we will ask that you email us the PSD and fonts.

We are primarily looking for Runescape themed signatures at this time. However, you are still free to send any type of signature that you want.

If you wish, you may use the icons provided, or you can make your own: http://www.rsbandb.com/images/sig/skillicons.psd (Right click link and save target)

If you have anymore questions post here.

Can you open those as layers in GIMP ?
Since it's a .psd file...

It opens in my GIMP, so it should work fine.

wait, nevermind, maybe I can do it, thanks for the guide.

EDIT: Does anybody know if you can save layers on GIMP as .psd or will it only save them as .xcf?

I'm pretty sure gimp saves psds properly. I'm not really sure though, I don't use gimp that often.

Well if it worked years ago, it should still work now because of all the updates to the program over the years. :P

GIMP can save .psd with layers just like Photoshop can, its just suggested to save everything in .xcf until you're done, then save to something else.

I'd just like to remind everyone to group your layers in folders (not merge!). Also please be descriptive with your naming ;)

That sounds awesome although I have to burst your bubble in saying that I don't think animated sigs can be made with GD. (the PHP module that provides image functions)

Animated gifs are possible, not with GD though. There is a class out there that can merge individual gifs into one animated gif, I've heard it's good, I never tried it myself though.

We might be able to do animated sigs, but it wouldn't be able to be an overly large or big animation. And animated dynamic text would be fairly difficult to make it smooth, that probably wouldn't happen.

That would be cool and it would be a first in the RS dynamic sig world I think. Id like to ask you more about the animated gifs but I'll pm you so we don't go off topic.

Are we allowed to tint the icons to a different color?
