though removing our cals from runehq would increse traffic im not sure that just traffic to cals is what we are looking for ..

Removing the calcs from RuneHQ would not be a way to increase traffic. Seriously. From Anubis' own survey... Here is a list of people who found RSbandB via Runehq:

-Anubis "Through Rune HQ, and the rsbandb calculators."
-ferggsy "runehq calcs"
-Crio3mo " RuneHq calculator link."
-CreepyPirate " RuneHQ" (though, he doesn't say calcs, it could have been a sig on the forum)
-Leandero "Along time ago through the Runehq calculators. "

A total of fourteen people replied to the thread. A few of them didn't remember how they found the site, so it might have been through RuneHQ, or not.

Runehq clearly has given this forum a lot of members. There's no denying it. Why break the bond when we have nothing else to offer besides the calcs (and stat sigs). Once the guides are all up, people would have more of a reason to come here.

But honestly, why would people choose this site over Runehq. While these calculators are the best, Runehq's are manageable, as well are a multitude of other fansite's calculators. No need to go to a different site just to use a calculator when the site you're at already offers one that works.

People who come here from Runehq probably didn't like something about the community there and prefer this one. By keeping a link to a better community (us) on Runehq, Runehq is giving us members from their very popular site.

I also believe that we are affiliated in some way with RHQ, that is why they use our calculators.

The way affiliation usually works with websites, is that when some one clicks on a link to an affiliate, the site that the person is going to gets something, like money, higher Google rankings, etc. Also the calcualtors at RHQ are how I found this site, and I believe that this may have the highest count of RS retirees out there. We also do not want to become too popular, because if we get really popular, this forum will get filled with noobs, 1337-speakers, even hackers. Popularity is good, but too much is bad.

I like RSBandB the way it is...Quiet and peaceful (not a good thing in the chat room though).

I'm sure alot of people will agree with me that we don't want the L33t D3wds AKA the general runescape population to overun this site with messages incorporating the noun N00b (and anything relevant to that "word").

I think too many members and a forum becomes chaos. I would rather have long lasting, devoted members than thousands of members that post once and you never see them again.

Partly the reason RsB&B is such a great community is because everything moves slightly slower than other forums. And everyone knows each other, and you really get a good feeling.

What do you expect there to be able to do on an online forum? I mean, its just a computer screen. As far as activity goes, I think youve got quite a whole lot here..
