New Forum Theme!

I do not like the transport icon as it makes no sense to me. Although cartoon could make it all nice. I criticized it the first time the transportation symbol was added to the game. I was fishing lobsters in Catherby and told everyone that I thought it sucked and everybody was like "I agree" except one person who told me not to talk ****. :S

BUT HOLY **** IT COULD BE A LAW RUNE SYMBOL THAT WOULD BE SO **** COOL.
Lunar tele symbol is pretty interesting too.

I must admit, I rarely visit the site and when I came on today I thought the site had moved the log in screen to the main page.
It turns out the whole forum has been changed and I'm quite excited and impressed by the new design.
Nice job everyone and Chief Snake.

I also like the online and offline feature, I remember mentioning to add that to the forums such a long time ago, but it was denied.
Now it looks like it finally arrived.

Woohoo! I was sad that I wouldn't be here to see the launch through but I'm really pleased with the reception and more significantly how it looks. For those who don't know this was about a three-day job I think for Mike and Shane to get everything up and running after I handed them the skin, which also included upgrading PhpBB and adjusting the old classic skin to accommodate it. Given that time they've done what could not be called anything less than a perfect job of tweaking things that I hadn't thought of and preparing the skin for its inception.

Thanks for all your comments and I know, it was well worth the wait.

I would actually like to ask something, would it be possible to center everything onthe bar with "message, view, search ect."
I'm not really into everything being on the left and then logout being on the right. Maybe like the old theme, with everything centered.
I prefer the centered way but I guess it'll just take time getting used to the new one.

It would be *possible*, yes, but I don't think we'll be reverting to that style again, sorry.

As you guys have suggested I'll probably be looking into refreshing the post icons etc sometime. They were a bit rushed initially as I was eager to get the skin together in a usable state. 8-[

It's so funny because I've been on these forums for so long and during that time a new forum theme was always "in progress".

It looks great, Chief! The theme matches perfectly with the site, though I'm going to miss the skeleton banner that Chewy made all those years ago. I'm really liking this new look and I know it'll take some getting used to for other people, but a change was direly needed. Fantastic job.

One thing I have noticed is that if I go into a topic, then go back on my browser, that topic still has and "new posts" icon on it. Although it can be fixed by a refresh, I dont remember this problem in the previous theme and I wonder why this would be.

On most browsers, hitting the back button reloads the page from your browsers cache without checking if the page has changed on the server.

Hmm, well I used to only use IE but now I don't so that may be it. I even the internet settings on those computers cause I'm using a brand new one now.
