Post subject:  Build Yourself a New Home for Christmas
Today marks the official release of our new house designer!

This house designer was built from the ground up in an effort to provide a more usable house designer. The house designer requires Javascript in order to function, it works in all major browsers that we support. Some interesting features in this new version are:
  • Session autosave. If you accidentally navigate away from the page, don't worry, your house is saved!
  • Server-side save and load. Houses are saved on the rsbandb servers under your forum account. Simply log in and start saving/loading.
  • Easy house sharing. Once your house is saved you will be presented with a short url that you can pass around to your friends.

You can check out the house designer here. Once you get to the house designer simply select a room from the upper right hand drop down and start building. The status fields will update appropriately informing you on the cost of your new mansion... or shack if you are a minimalist.

On a final note, you can just head on over (and bookmark) to www.rsbandb.com/house if you are looking for a quick way to access the house designer.

This was a fun project to create, so I hope everyone will find at least some use of the new features added or the enhanced usability. As always if you have any questions/suggestions, feel free to post.

Woo nice! I was about to remodel my house to to set up the portals faster for my farming runs! Thanks Shane and everyone who helped in!

I can't wait to use it, but one thing I would like to see in the future is the ability to see what the inside of each room looks like when you put it down, so you can set up your house to get the most xp in some cases.
