Post subject:  WARNING!HACKER ALERT!FAKE EMAILS!

If, under an curcumstaces you get an email entitled: 'runescape login server problems' from 'Jagex security'. DELETE IT. It contains a virus and must not be clicked on!
In case you are curious of what it says:

Last night our login servers were hacked, they stole more than half ofRuneScape accounts information including passwords and contactinformation.

I had that also, I think Creepy alerted us in the PM announcement, which may be gone now, but this should really have been a seperate one.

Just a word of warning people, if you do click on the link, it IS NOT the official runescape site. It looks very convincing, but DO NOT log in.

Jagex will never send you an email, they will use the message center. They dont have access tyo your email, it's hidden from them.

okay i've sticky this for now. everybody please make sure that you know what you are opening before. remember JAGEX DOES NOT send out any e-mails. If you are truely worried make sure your RS log in is different from the ones you use anywhere else. stay safe

I got one, too. I didn't open it. :)

Please notice that in the RS registration, there is no form for E-Mail. JaGeX does NOT have access to your E-Mail address!

well considering that people can just copy other people's e-mail and onto their own e-mail, that wouldn't work

yeah I opened it and got malware (deleted). NOBODY CLICK.I knew it was a scam when I realized that the link lead to atspace.****.com. I use atspace so I knew it was a scam.

there's no fun in that.

after jagx released their "friendly reminder" lots of scammers been popping with "a fansite got their database hacked, need your password to check"
