Previously our sig limit was 550x250 pixels but sometimes we allowed people to go a bit over but some people seem to think this means they can go 800 pixels over the limit, and this is not the case.

So we have decided to increase the limit to 600 pixels wide by 300 pixels high and we will not tolerate anyone being over the limit, even if its just a few pixels over the limit. This rule will be in effect immediately because it is an increase in the limit and if anyone is already breaking this rule they were definately breaking the old limit.

The reason we have a signature limit is because people get annoyed when they have to scroll down a full page to go past peoples signatures and they clog the forums with crap.

Added the picture jeff made so people see it right away

Umm..the image link is broken so I edited in the one from the rules. ~Bib

is there also a rule for the text in a sig? that can also be quite long because some people seem to need a new line for every 2 words.

The 600 x 300 pixels rule applies to an overall area of the signature, including both text and images. An easy way to make sure is to open up Paint, paste a screenshot of your signature in there, and then set the Attributes to 600 x 300. Then you can check to make sure it is not over the limit.
