Charcoal is used for maping parts of the jungle in Legend's Quest. Also used to draw a portrait of the sick man in Zogre Flesh Eaters. Tiles though... They are useless.

Tiles are currently not needed or usable for anything... but they are a hint at the upcoming carpentry skill

Just add it with crafting. Instead of having too use a whole new skill just make it into an addition to crafting. |
