So hey people :)

I was just wondering, which payment method do you choose, when you pay for your membership.

I was planning to become a member in a few days, but I don't have a credit card, only debit card, which Runescape does not verify. So I don't know what to do now. When thinking about my trouble, I thought I will ask how you pay :)

As far as I know Credit card is the cheapest option though it should be the same for a bank transfer.

Could you arrange to pay the monthly fee to a relative who does have a credit card?

Pre-pay cards are a lot more expensive per month so only use if no other option.

I think you can post a query in Account help section of the forums?

Good luck there is just so much more in members, I can never do all the things I would like to.

When you get members, send me a PM and add me in-game as I like to help new members as I got so much help when I started.

Thank you for trying to help, but I was a member long time ago, when I was still playing RS, so I'm not new there :). I was thinking about the Bank Transfer options, but they ask for my bank account number. Is this safe? Can I give them the Bank Account number and I'll won't any problems in the future?

I have a lot of payments direct from my bank for all my household bills.

If it is the Billing dept of Jagex it should be safe.

To make a direct request they need your bank account and sort code and an authorisation from you to take a set amount; this could be a one-off payment for a year or a mothly regular.

Of course this is for the UK and I don't know the bank regulations for anywhere else or how much your bank would charge, best to ask them first.

I had the same problem with my debit card, but the reason was is that my bank does not let me purchase things out of the USA. You could get a 0% APR credit card from Citi and just use it for RuneScape. This would let you always be a member, and get your credit score up.

So, I tried paying using Bank Transfer. It is 1 Litas more expensive and with addition to 1.40 Litas for the money transfer, so it is almost equal to 1 dollar.

The website wrote, that this payment will take up to 6 days to complete, so now I only have to wait and see. :)

To Ranging God: What is "Citi" that you have mensioned? And what about that credit score? What does it do?

www.citi.com apply for the zero apr for 7 months. WHich is your dont pay interest for 7 months, so your balance needs to be 0 at the 7 month payment.

You credit score is what determines if you get a loan and stuff

Well, I am a bit afraid to get into any commitments, because, I don't have a job or something like that to pay for my failures. And this bank is not in my country, well, at least I think so, so it would be a bit difficult if I would have any problems. By the way, I have never tried or had my own credit card, so I am afraid because of this too.

It should be safe if you only use it for RuneScape. You just pay your payment every month from your bank

I'm unsure of if this may differ in your country, but here, credit cards are safer to use because the credit agencies offer you more protection from fraud than a bank will. I think the main reason for this is because when you make a withdrawal from the bank, the money is no longer in your banks control. When you make a payment with a credit card, the credit agency does not yet have your money (unless you use a prepaid credit card) and they don't pay the vendor right away so they can stop any fraud if they are alerted to it and you will not be without your money.

That was a bit off-topic. Any method should be safe with Jagex :)

I was thinking about PayPal too, but they do not approve my Debit Card as either :(. So the only chance is to get a Credit Card or use more expensive payments. I have just calculated, that this Bank Transfer cost for me about 8 dollars. Almost 2 dollars more than with a Credit Card.

You should just get a credit card then. Simplify and cheaper.

I use Jagex gift cards. It's a little more, but then I don't have to rely on my credit.
