I currently have 76 crafting and I'd like 80 so I can be better at Stealing Creation. I'd like to keep within a budget of about 500k, but I can afford to go higher if there's a particularly fast method. What do you guys suggest?

Several methods going from not recommended to recommended (I like it that way lol)

Flax - Good and makes profit, although very slow. I heard of someone spinning flax to 99, they are 90 now O_O

Hard leather - Decently cheap exp but for f2p only.

Jewelery - Bracelets make good money if you have the gems already, otherwise sapphires tend to have the least loss.

Dragon hides - Very fast but fairly expensive. Stick to bodies and try to use SC needles if possible. (Ironic huh)

Battle staves - Want to keep loss to a minimum? These are great, especially with Varrock armor 3 as Zaff sells them for 7k ea which means profit (cha-ching)

Hope that helps you

Another way that you can consider using to get 80 crafting would be to transform molten glass into unpowered orbs. I know that this is a rather cheap method without the use of Stealing Creation.

I believe it loses around 3.4gp/xp

cutting sapphire/emeralds (depends on ge price trends, they get merched often) are about 4 gp/xp and are quite fast.

Superglass make on the lunar spellbook will gain you money if prices are the same as when i did it.

Sapphires and Emeralds if you want REALLY fast exp. But you might find yourself losing a bit of cash.

Dragonhide if you want fast exp, but still you're gonna lose money.

Flax if you want alot of profit but prepare yourself to spend ages on it. Exp is incredibly slow, but the money is enjoyable.

Making air (or other) battlestaves are pretty good. Fairly fast xp, but it might take some time to get the normal battlestaves to sell as you can only buy 100 every 4 hours at the GE.

Do Hand in the Sand, Lunar Diplomacy, and Varrock Achievment Diary 3. Every day, purchase battlestaffs from the staff selling guy in Varrock. Then collect sand from Bert in Yanille. Then collect seaweed from Ahrein at Catherby Dock General Store. Use Lunar Magic Superglass Make to get more glass than normal. (13 sand and seaweed can get you more than 13. Up to around 20.)

Then, blow the glass into orbs, and then charge your orbs at any obelisk of your choosing. (The best one you can) And then attack the orbs to the staffs.

Lastly, alch them, and you get money! And Lots of Crafting XP!

You can only get about 70 staffs made a day this way, but you can buy the stuff in the GE but you will lose money.
