I'm 44 farming (the two 10k lamps will get me 47), and I need help farming. So far, about 90% of the experience I've gotten in farming is from experience lamps/books of knowledge/tears of Guthix. So what should I plant? I don't really care much about the cost, just the fastest experience. AS long as the exp/gp ratio is less than 1/10, I'm fine.

the fastest exp is actually from vinesweeper, but to do it right i'd have to give you a lesson on how to play it effectively. you make 25k exp an hour for free if you play smart. >_> if you don't beleive me ask tidus.

contrairily, if you want inexpensive farming that doesn't require much attention, invest in miscelenia. full maples half flax will get you all your money back and give you several tree seeds every day. regardless of what they are, uproot all your trees from the day before and plant any seeds you get from miscelenia.

if you combine the two you could make 100k exp per day in 2-3 hours of effort and no cash used up.

I actually didn't realise since I'm a bit higher, but for lower levels, Vinesweeper is fairly good. The only thing would be if you want to get serious about farming, you'd definitely want to abandon that and start growing some trees - not necessarily the highest you can for your level, but just whatever will be most efficient for you.

Miscelenia and growing trees is certainly the best way to go.

Trees are great for training, but they take a while to get good at. The locations aren't that convenient, and you get a ton of apples and acorns from Kingdom Management. I plant them (currently 85 farming), but if you are just starting out, then making your own allotment path might be a better way. For example:

ecto to Port Phasmus - Harvest and plant
Glory to Draynor - Harvest and plant the field south of Fally
Tele to Camelot (or ring to Legends Guild) - Plant both the Catherby and Ardo Patches

At 44 farming, I would say plant Toadflax. With any seed, you want to be at least 3 levels over the min level to plant it, or you will have too many deaths. Toadflax seeds are also very cheap(239gp), and the herbs sell very well(2300gp). Plant Marigolds in the flower patch and harvest them every round. They are a second for summoning and in demand, selling at 4279 on the GE. In the allotments, plant whatever you can from potatoes to tomatoes. Start with potatoes for 2-3 rounds. Then use them to pay for onions for 2-3 rounds, then pay for cabbages with onions, then use your cabbages for tomatoes, and repeat the process.

Key Points to Maximize your XP:
Always make compost each round. There is a ton of XP in compost over the long run.
Buy the pineapples in Catherby (talk to the guy on the dock, don't trade). At 2gp each it is a great source for super compost
Always bring 5gp or sacks (baskets if yo planted tomatoes) with you when you go to harvest. Getting a full invent of potatoes that you have to bank makes farming very very slow.
