Hi.

I'm trying to re-design my house to make it as useful as possible, while making it fast to load (trying to use the least useless rooms possible)
I'm also trying to figure out how much the whole thing will cost me =\

Here is how I thought it would be right now...

However, this picture doesn't say which material I should buy, and how much the materials will cost me. It only says how much the rooms will cost me.

Can you tell me what I should buy in these rooms/if you have a better design for a house?

Thanks for your time

Edited: My first version didn't contain Bedrooms for my servant

I would swap the formal garden with a quest hall, as then you have a glory teleport to edge right next to the altar.

Otherwise there is nothing wrong. Simple and functional.

swap the costume room around with the portal, portals will be used more.
EDIT: hadn't really looked at this thread..ya i meant switch the two rooms not add another portal room.

Even if I already have one portal room? I know it's better to have 2 of them but Costume room might be useful for bank space, no? idk

if you think portal room is better I'll probably go for it :p

Lol, keep both, just switch the positioning. Not replace it. I could see how you might misread that, but yeah, one of each just switch them.

Oh, lol. I thought he wanted me to change the costume room for a 2nd portal room -.-

but eh, isn't it better to make the portal as close as possible to the chapel for gilded altar? I might then place the chapel at my current portal room's place, then my portal at the costume and the costume at the chapel?

lol sorry if I'm not clear i'm rly tired right now i'm going to sleep =/

Na, you should keep it the way it is in terms of the chapel, costume, and portal chamber- changing it like that would basically have the same.
The chapel->portal chamber is better like that, good for things like barrows. Recharge prayer and the portal to canifis is right next door, instead of having to walk through the garden.

If you're trying to build a house for usability, and want to use the least amount of rooms, I'd get rid of the kitchen and dining room and put the bedrooms down there, and move the skill hall in place of the formal garden. The kitchen and dining room is cheap to build back for training on larders when you need it.

oh, just a word of advice. if you put a glory in your house for runecrafting (quest hall) don't put stairs in the quest hall. it will save you a bit off time because you wont have to run around them and occasionally get stuck.

I dont think that there is much wrong with your design.

Would this one be better? I swapped some rooms so that Study would be beside the garden...

I'd include another portal room (as there are seven places you can actually teleport from using your house and this will let you reach 6 of them). That way all you need when using Lunar magic to get to the normal teleport places are home teletabs to go to your house and then use the portals.

Looks good, I'd not worry about portal rooms though.

I personally think the dining room should be directly connected to the kitchen. No reason, really, it's just sort of awkward that your servants have to cook food and walk outside just to serve it.

You could replace your kitchen for a 2nd portal room for versatility.
