Post subject:  Why?

It truly perplexes me why someone, be they a lower level than you or not, has to have the audacity to think they deserve a mineing rock more than you, regardless of whether you were there first or not.

I mean really, I get robbed of almost any ore I try to mine because none of the thieves understand that I was there first (on occasions, if I wasn't there first, I try to negotiate a fair one-rock-to-a-person deal).

Why doesn't Jagex just put a dang block thing on mine rocks like they have on monsters so that its one-to-a-rock, not six-to-a-rock?

I agree with you! the rocks should bee like trees, taht you get more than 1 ore at time.

Part of the reason I can't stand mining is because whenever I do mine I'm always stuck with a bunch of noobs 'stealing' my ores. Instead of one-per-rock, i think that, like in tutorial island, you should always get an ore from a rock no matter how many people are mining it.

If only one person could be on a rock at a time, there would be none available.
They could make a place that has a super hard quest to access that's like the rune essence mines but for other rocks, and the higher up the metal on the scale the harder the quest. Yeah, that would just make it way too easy, though.
It could be made more like woodcutting, with a huge rock with multiple ores. Sometimes will loose all ore in the rock (like trees being cut down) and you will start mining just plain useless rocks. (Make you mine them just to be annoying 8)) But once again, just makes it too easy.
Then again, most peoples' mining level is already higher than their other levels... (Judging by you need to have like level 75 to be in the top 100K)

A lot of people think because someone "steals" "their" rock, it's because they're lazy and rude. When I look for an empty world at some rocks, and find none, and after 30 minutes of hoping find an unattended area, I'll start mining there. However, if someone was already there but was at the bank, I'm really not going to hop for another 30 minutes. Especially when the first thing most of them do is start flaming, try to make you feel bad, and get on a higher account than you to say how much better they are.

Add more mining areas. Add more rocks in the mining areas. One person per rock could of worked a few years ago, but with as many people as there are now, I don't think it would. You would just find yourself unable to gather any XP, do to all the rocks being filled.
If there are really six people to one rock, and that one to one rock block is added, where would the other 5 people go to mine?

That happened last night when I was trying to mine gold to help my smithing and make money. Two n00b siblings (at least, they claimed they were siblings) came running up and kept trying to steal all the gold from the two rocks there were in the Al-Kharid Mining Area. Being the benevolent higher level I am (they were levels 20-30), I tried to negotiate that I could have the rock I was currently working on and the guy could have the other rock, which he started out saying was fair. Then the girl felt like whining about howit wasn't fair and that I was making them share a rock and yea....an all-out war of wits and insults continued until I only had 4 more slots avaliable in my inventory, lol.

Also, if it was one-to-a-rock, the other 5 people would just either A) Stand-by until that person got done, B) Go mine other rocks in area, or C) Go to a different world/area

That wouldn't fix the problem because then it would still make it extremely time consuming and tedious for everybody. Just like what warren said we should have more rocks or more mining areas.
