Post subject:  Firecape

ok i will be taking a break from going for the quest cape. As the title has told you i am trying to get the highly coveted firecape.

I need tips. Things such as what bolts and range level i should have, a suggested starting inventory and a suggested setup to wield when i go in(if you could take a screenshot it would be easier than typing it).

Current stats:
78 attack
83 strength
75 defense
72 range
73 mage
57 prayer (3k xp from 58)
80 hitpoints

also I will really need an estimate on what range level i should have and how many/what type of bolts/arrows i should use(or how many crystal bows).

List of suggested stats and required items:
Guthans
(will add more as i find out)

List of knowledge of the caves I need:
What inventory i should use
What should i wield when i enter
Range level needed: ?
all potions, food, and armor i will need
Estimated time it will take
decent guide on what to expect

As you can see i will need alot of information before i even attempt for the cape. Hopefully you guys will be able to help me in my quest for the cape.

Firecape

Also: please dont post false information as i will be using alot of time and money on this. I will also not take one persons opinion/suggestion/idea, i will need multiple peoples ideas.

Thanks ^.^

not required but it would be nice if you post your fire cape screenies to hsow your information is legit also =)

You have good enough stats for it, in my opinion.

I suggest you range all the way though, you don't really need Guthans. The point is to take the least amount of damage as you can- and for what you do get hit, Saradomin brews easily heal it.
What I brought the last two times (Didn't beat it, but got to the Jad with enough supplies left both times)

Inventory: 6 Saradomin Brews (healing/raising hp), 3-4 ranging poitons (help with range), and the rest with Super Restore Potions. (Restoring negative stats after drinking a Saradomin Brew/restoring prayer)
All 4 dose.

Worn Inventory:
Verac's Helmet- for prayer bonus
Karil's Leathertop - for range bonus
Amulet - I did glory since it was the best one I had :?
Verac's Plateskirt - for prayer bonus
Karil's Crossbow - for weapon (2500 boltracks should be enough)
Boots - I wore rune boots since they were the best I had back then, dragon or rangers boots would be better.
Barrows gloves - for all bonuses
Ring - I had a recoil since I didn't have a archer ring

It shouldn't take any longer than 2 and half hours at the most.

You will probably have to try many times to beat it, not many do it on the first try.

Guide for getting cape.

Hope that helped a little. Get range up a little more, will help a TON more once you get to the higher leveled monsters.

I made quite a long post about it with screenshots on this topic the last time someone asked about the fire cape: http://forums.rsbandb.com/viewtopic.php?p=303204#303204

I suggest you take a look, and I hope it helps.

You could do it at your current levels, it will require quite a few more prayer/super restore potions though.

You probably mean a Karil's Crossbow?

lol Verac's crossbow.

From experience, I have to say that killing Jad with under 80 range is a bit of a toughie because it takes longer to kill everything and there are much higher chances of messing up. And one mistake could ruin your chances of beating the fight caves. You really only need 43 prayer because you'll probably bring enough super restores, BUT to be safe, a higher prayer helps, especially the +15% range hit which really helps.

Guthans is really optional as you might only need it for the beginning. 2/3 of the caves requires you range everything as meleeing will get you killed incredibly quickly against the 360's. Defence is not an important factor either. As Mike said, Jad and the 360's can hit very high against you regardless of your defences (except prayer of course.)

Gee, some people here really need to have a better sence of humor. :?

ON TOPIC:

I've never really tried going for the fire cape, comsidering my level, but it really doesn't seem that hard if you have good range, prayer, equipment..and a reliable computer.

Okay, Dokter BoB: your message is considered spam. It adds no value to the post, if you do that in the sandbox I don't care but here it's not allowed.
Al3x: You should report a post like that next time so a Moderator can deal with it.
And lastly Pat: Your message was really totally spam...

Now we all get back on topic.

On Topic: I'm going to get a firecape as soon as I hit 85 ranged. I'm 81 currently but I want to succeed in one go. Also bolts sound good these days. If you can do 20% damage on Jad... That shouuld be a huge hit.

That 20% hit would take 50 hp of anyways back on topic since i know ranged very well i wont recomend u to use crystal bows whit urs ranged lvl max u posible do will be like 19 also taking 2 of em wastes 1 inv slot so take kharils crossbow since its fast and will hit hard althouth i dont have cape just coz of bad conection but gl on urs goal hope i helped a lil ( i know i didint heh)
also would recomend geting rang boots and rangers ring since of verc u will lose bit good amount of ranged bonuses of course if u use that method u can always sell boots and ring afterwards :)

I don't have one, and I've never attempted...I've looked at several guides, and watched a few movies, but I don't see the point just yet. I don't pk, and I don't need to *maybe* hit 1 higher on a monster. If I'm going to spend 2.5 hrs + in the cave, I want to be fairly certain I'll be able to show something for it in the end.

Maybe once I finish getting 99 defence, and then start in on prayer...and range..I'll think about going for it. I went in once with guthan, 10 shark, and the rest of an invo of salmon, and I lasted up to the 2nd 360. I guess it shouldn't be too bad, supposing prayers can be switched on at the right times, and lag isn't an issue
