What do you think the most reasonable way to get 92 Fletching would be? I want to be able to make Rune Knives since they are in high demand with Stakers. Anyway, what do you think is the best way to get 92 Smithing? Thanks! |

O_o Steel platebodies all the way. They're really the only things you can get the materials for in bulk. |

Gold bars with smithing gauntlets are best exp. Cannon balls are probably the best for money at a low level. |

There are three main strategies that people tend to use: 1. Smelting Gold Ore You can only do this if you are extremely rich (100m+) and have completed the Family Crest quest. Simply equip your Goldsmithing Gauntlets, but 200k Gold Ore and start smelting. You lose about 80m, but it is by far the fastest way to train Smithing. 2. Making Cannon Balls Pretty self-explanatory. Buy Steel Bars and make them into Cannon Balls. This is the slowest process of the three but it will, in turn, make you the most profit. 3. Making Iron Knives Personally, this is my favourite way. To start, you don't need very much money, so it's goof for everyone. Buy Iron Ore and Rings of Forging. Smelt all the Iron Ore into Bars, and then smith them into Iron Knives. The process is slower than the Gold, but faster than the Cannon Balls. Making Iron Knives also brings in a little but of money. |

Make mith plates at the blast furnace and high alch them. You can buy the coal and mith right there and still make money. And when the coal gets too expensive, just switch worlds. Or you can bring your own noted coal. |

in telation to what total and ryan said... i'd go with making iron knives at the blast furnace... i do it every once in a while. 1 slot is money, one slot is knives, and 1 slot is hammer. the other 25 are for the iron you buy from the store. the store is also very inexpensive, starting at just 20 something gold per iron i think, and it restocks fairly often, as the dwarves bring ore back from the mines to the shop. as i like to leave no corners uncovered, i'll explain a little bit... buy 25 iron form the shop, then walk up to the conveyor belt and chose "deposit all ore." then run to the treadmill to cart your iron into the furnace. next, grab the shovel, and pile in coke untill the furnace turns a deep red and stays there for a few seconds. (its grey->orange->red> explode) why so dangerously high? you want enough fire to keep the furnace going while you fix pipes. after the stove is red, run to the pump and start pumping. keep your eyes on the bar forge, and your ears open for the squeaky sound of a pipe breaking. if one does break, just click on it to fix it with your hammer, then run back to the pump. when your bars are done, go grab a bucket, fill it with water, and use it on the bars to cool them instantly. finally, drop the shovel and bucket, take your bars, go through the gate, and smith your iron knives. wash wrinse repeat. no forgings required, and i guarantee you wont be as bored as you would be just smithing bars in al karid (or nietiznot, my personal choice seeing as its the closest furnace to a bank anywhere), then hammering knives in varrock (yanille is my anvil of choice ;P ) it saves you lots of money, takes a little longer, and earns a much larger profit. iron bar for 25-50gp ea makes 150-175gp profit per bar smithed when sold at 40gp per knive. make 10k knives, thats only 300k-ish, and you get back 1.6-ish mill. |

I've always thought that the blast furnace takes too long. currently i am mining 5k iron to make 25k knives, sell for 40 ea, thats 1M right there. Good exp aswell |

Good exp aswell well, if you mine all your ore, you're taking the same amount of time overall to get your knives. plus you have to use forgings. on that note, if anyone has 70k iron to smith, i have 500 forgings to sell to you =P 37.5exp x 70k ore = 2,650,000 exp. which happens to be level 82 =P . together that would cost 7m for the iron (100 ea) and 1.5 for the forgings (3k ea), so 8.5 mill to generate 14 mill. hehe. |
