How exactly does the Special Attack on the Abyssal Whip work? I'm at about 82 Strength, but with the Abby Whip special I never hit my max hit, and I seldom ever hit high at all. Why is this?

In fact, I probably hit more 0-5's than anything else! (with spec) :?

It is used to take run energy off of your enemy. It doesn't make you hit higher. When you are pking or dueling you can use it on another player to lessen their run energy so you have more of a chance to catch them.

I thought the Whip special drains the other player's special attack bar... o.O

*could never understand why they don't clarify this in the manual or wherever*

It is, the special hits like a normal hit with reduced accuracy. It reduces your opponents running energy (like Torags). It's an ok special but 10% isn't alot really, its dropped because less people buy them now days, so people sell for less. Then someone will see them selling for less and say "No way i'm paying X I saw it going for Y!" X=old amount. Y = New ammount. Then this continues to thrive through the Selling world.

its not as strong as a d bax but stronger than a d long, fast as a scimmy, spc attack makes them stay still 4 a bit and makes em loose 10% energy... and doesnt make u hit higher!

Ok so it doesn't hit higher at all... I would have loved to know that before I started training :P

Anyways now I'm using the Dragon Baxe Special + Restore Pots to make me hit higher, then use a Drag Dagger (s) when spec is filled but I dont need another strength boost. Good training method :)

if you're training...why poison? (unless you're slaying, in which case i told you no passing lvl 50. I mean it!!)

Yeh that is a good way for training. I often use it also. Using the dagger can make it a little less xp becuase of poison though. :(

You're right, I didn't think about the poison. I was using it for its double hit special of it. And memental, you're lucky I'm not slaying right now, but I'm 48 and heading for 60 soon! :D
