Quick note to Shane (the human) Last year you wanted me to name a kitten after you, and that kitten was black and had a twin, then the twin I was going to name Shane was ran over. Now I have a set of black twins, so I immediately thought you would want one named after you. So, There you go. I had a litter of kittens, April 16th, 2009. 4 beautiful healthy kittens. For 10 days I fell in love with them, then it happened. I was playing around and sprayed the mother cat with water. It wasn't intentional, but it was right beside the kitten. I didn't really think anything of it. I left and walked to my aunt's house. When I came back, I discovered the dog. Sitting over a body, gnawing on it. I screamed and kicked the dog away. I picked up the dead kitten, and started crying. I thought it was Shane at first, but it was to big, Shane was really small, So then Jessie, Jessie was really large though.. Then I noticed the mark on its face, a flame above the eye. Rockstar had taken the beating, the rest where gone safely. I made a promise, that I would protect them. For days I searched for them. I finally found them, resting under a large freezer. They had now opened their eyes and could crawl. The next day a flood came through, and I woke up in the middle of it. I ran in the kitchen and told mom I was going to get my kittens because the mom probably abandoned them in the water. I run outside, it was pouring cold rain. I get to the freezer, and all I can hear are screaming. I search around for them, but can't find them. I fall to my knees in the water, and start digging under the freezer. I find 2 screaming kittens, trapped in a hole full of water. They could have easily drown. I could not find the third, Jessie, but I had no time. I ran inside and covered the freezing, wet, little kittens in blankets. After a while I set them outside, in the middle of two blankets, so they could be warm and dry. I ran out to find the last kitten, and I found him inside the shed, soaked in water, but alive. I once more grabbed him and brought him in. After it stopped flooding, the mother cat found the kittens, and brought them away. Terrified that I would discover them dead (by drowning) I found her, and her litter, safe inside a shed. I set my worries aside and let them stay, and promised I would take care of them. Yesterday I brought them out of their nest for the first time since their eyes opened, I showed them grass, rock, and clover. Russel thought rocks where edible. It was silly. I've got pictures of them when they where 2 days old, 16 days old, and 27 days old. So lets see the babies! Spoiler for 2 days old:
Spoiler for 27 days old:

My mom is a vet and I have 4 cats and this story made me cry =[ POOR KITTENS! It isn't really your fault to all of that bad stuff happening. It's mother nature and the dog. As powercrazy said, you should make sure they get all their shots, feed the the correct food and the correct amount of food, make sure to give them lots of love and care, and if you get tired of keeping them, DON'T DUMP THEM ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET! Send them to an adoption center where they will make sure the animals will get a new home and they will take care of the animal in the time they receive the animal to the time the animal gets adopted. I also volunteer for a cat adoption center and I see plenty of stories where poor helpless animals have been dumped on the side of the street either because the owner could not afford taking care of the animal before or they got tired of taking care of them. These types of stories sadden me and the also aggravate me. Being a pet owner and lover, I have experienced ups and down with my cats. For instance, some ups were when my outdoor stray that I rescued learned how to use the litter box. Some down were the potty training. For instance, waking up at night to something that stinks only to find out there was diarrhea on my rug. Some things you need to remember are they are animals, and their litter boxes need to be scooped. For your amount of animals, I recommend you scoop their litter boxes once or twice a day depending on your schedule. Also, I recommend once the kittens get older to not de-claw them but to train them to use a scratching post. De-clawing caws is like cutting off the first joint in your finger (the one with the nail on it). Also, with the kittens young age I suggest you teach them good habits because, just like humans, what you teach them in their young years will stick with them as they grow older. I wish you the best of luck with your precious babies and I hope they grow big and strong. Good luck with taking care of them and teaching them the right things. Pm me if you have any other questions. ![]() |

I know a ton about cats. They're outdoor kitties. I have been with cats since I was .... Brought home from the hospital. I'll keep them until someone wants them (Mom wants to give them away, but I want them.) Glad that everyone thinks they're cute. They'll be happy to know, they are now the new stars of the internetz. |

Well, I've got three dogs. One of them (angel) has been beaten by cats, and is scared of them. The other, stitch, isn't scared of them, but will bark at them sometimes. The third, Buddie, hates cats. She will bite them, eat them, whatever. I've worked on training her not to bite cats by letting her and the cats share food, one thing she hates. If she bites the cat, I disipline her and take her food for the day. She learned well, and don't bite cats that often anymore. I'm sure you could find guides online to teach about dogs. One way is a shock collar, my aunt has a dog that will snap a kittens neck, but will first bark at it. She put a shock bark collar on him for 1 day and he now knows, if hes outside with that collar on, he will not look at a cat. |

Kat wrote: If she bites the cat, I disipline her and take her food for the day. Animal abuse. My grandma's cat had kittens a while back, I got two out of five of them, and they look kinda like yours. They're pure black, except some of them have a white spot on their stomach, specifically of my kittens. |

Discipline isn't abuse unless its cruelty, such as beating them till they can't walk, or something. I just whack him with the food lid xD (Its not painful, I've been whacked with it before.) Russel, like his father/uncle (ewwinbreeding) has a white spot under both arms and the lowest part of the belly. Shane & Jessie, like their father, has white upper and undercoat, the main coat is black. But if the sun or wind hits them just right, they'll look half white. |

So if someone 10 times your size got hit with a bat, and thought it didn't hurt, would it be OK for him/her to hit you with the bat? And haven't you had a lot of problems with kittens dieing? Is it really wise to keep getting more if they keep dieing? Edit: taking someone/somethings food could be considered starvation even if it is just for a day. At a young age they need all the nutrients they can get for survival. |

![]() Summery of this.... LISTEN, I KNOW ANIMALS, I'M NOT AN IDIOT, AND I DON'T ABUSE MY ANIMALS. Thank you. ![]() Back to kittens - They had their first non-milk food. I feed them some fat from a steak, Shane and Jessie LOVED it. Russel has a little cold and would not eat it. |

I'd assume ... Kat ... knows stuff about ... cats ... XD At least more than you. Discipline is training somoene/something to follow rules... by that, it is hardly animal abuse because beating people isn't the only way to discipline. And I don't know but a food lid is kind of different from a bat. For one, it is 1000 times lighter. It's not a think piece of wood or metal it's a thin peice of plastic. One is long and gets lots of momentum and doesn't have as much air resistance. So I'm pretty sure a lid hurts as much as pushing a pillow at you, not as much as a baseball bat. \ Did she even say she starves them if they're bad..? Don't some kittens die from a litter usually anyways (don't ask me I know nothing, but I hear all the time from people their cat had kittens and x many died). Either way I don't think it was her fault they died before anyways... They look funny at 2 days (I never seen them that early before D: ) |
