Post subject: | Out Of The Dark ~ A poem by me on the Holocaust |
Hey, this is a poem by me on the Holocaust, please tell me what you think. The Holocaust is a very close topic to me and I have learned much about it. It is important to remember what went on so that it will not happen again. Here it is... Out Of The Dark ~ by me _____________________________________________________________ The news is circling around You can’t just sit and wait to be found Packing upstairs Ready to run This could be your last time to see the sun Down the backstreet Try and stay up beat Weight holding you down Arrive very soon All locked in one room Nothing to spare Must all share No time to fight Stay quiet day and night You have no fear For you believe the war’s end is near Time slowly ticks bye Never has one tear left your eye Information comes gradually these days Some of your family has been taken away But that is just what they say You wake up one morning Wishing for the end Quickly get up and jump out of bed Wondering what could be going through their heads You hear commotion from outside No where to run and no where to hide Look forward to the times ahead As you have one last bit of bread Pounding on the door You know you are safe no more Quietly pack What you have in a small sack Follow them out the door At last you can live in uncertainty no more You take one last look at the sun Then turn your attention to the barrel of a gun You see your past and future in each one And you know that your future doesn’t end right there You dream about your new life without care You board the cart about to embark On your new life out of the dark _____________________________________________________________ Thanks for reading hope you enjoyed, and if you like it I may post another poem on the Holocaust.\ Oh and as Ranging God pointed out, tell me how you interperted the ending, thanks rf10s7 |

Not bad really. I have read so much on that one subject that this can sum up. I wonder if there will be a poem on the trip or life there. |

Wow, that is really good! I like to read about the Holocaust because my grandma had to run from it. I liked the end because a lot of people did have to die by suicide. |

yes thank you very much, The end can be inturpereted many different ways now that you mention it, I pictured it as the person was looking at the Nazi's gun, but how you pictured it also is very very true. My grandmother also had to face this horror, she is still alive today and never talks about it because she has lost many family members to it. |
