Well, my Grandpa has a computer with some nice specs down here but it doesn't connect to the internet because it has Linux on it. I was wondering if anyone here knew how to get it to connect to the internet? |

Which distribution is it? I'm guessing ubuntu since its the most common. If you're connecting through LAN it should connect automatically. Try to give more information about the situation, else no one can help much. |

It shouldn't be an issue of Linux or not, though I'm guessing something else is amiss. Have you been able to connect to the internet via whatever interface (LAN / Wireless) before with the computer + a linux distro, or is this the first time you've tried? As Alex said, LAN should be online automatically. If it's wireless, make sure that the drivers are installed for the wi-fi adapter, and see if it's able to see any signals within its interface. If so, there shouldn't be any problems.. Just click to connect, provide a password if necessary. |
