My built in computer speakers are chirping ![]() My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1501 with a "SigmaTel High Definition Audio" sound card. I think. ![]() Any help? |

Have you tried a live CD version of a Linux distribution? If it's happening in other operating systems, and it hasn't happened till now, it's likely a hardware issue. It's not exactly the newest laptop, so it's quite possible that the speakers are showing their age. |

It may not be a fault with the speakers. Try reinstalling the sound drivers- they're notorious for playing up. |

Alternatively, are you sure that the chirping isn't coming from something emitting a frequency nearby? Mobile phones and other things can cause buzzing and chirping from speakers. |

Wow, I forgot to follow up on this ![]() I think it was the frequency, I used to have my wireless phone next to the computer, I moved it, and it was all better ![]() Thanks guys! |
