Post subject:  RAM (Need fast answers)

So I'm going to buy some more RAM today (about time, right?). I need to know if there's a specific kind of RAM I need to buy, or not.

My PC is an eMachines Desktop, that's all I really know.

I'll be checking here often, quick advice would help.

Well you already have RAM cause ur computer needs it to run. The new RAM you buy needs to have notches in the same place. If you could take out your current RAM and take a picture, then put it back in and post the pic i could help more.

Use to scanner located here:

to figure out what kind you need.

Use Crucial to at least scan, and they do offer fairly competitive pricing / shipping rates if you do decide to purchase there. If not, make sure you get the speeds and other information written down if you feel like trying somewhere else.

Thanks for your responses guys, I found out what kind of RAM I need. I need "DDR PC3200", I'm going to buy it from Crucial. My uncle told me to go there and check my PC with the scan and then buy from there. He says that they don't send you bogus stuff and they're reliable and that he's been using them for a while, so I'll buy it from there, seeing as my uncle makes and puts together PCs for a living, lol.
