Post subject:  Problem with new graphics card

I recently bought a new ATI 2600XT graphics card, and it's acting up inside my computer. When I try to install its driver, the driver installs as usual, but when Windows goes to restart, it crashes immediately and restarts again. Any ideas on why?

System:
Core 2 Duo
intel D946GZIS motherboard
ATI graphics card(made by MSI, 512mb of video RAM, factory overclocked to 830mhz)
Windows Vista

Customer support was no help...

EDIT: Would this have anything to with the fact that i put an insulator by the card to prevent it from making contact with a capacitator?

Are you using the driver that came with the card?
What is the insulator made of?
Is the graphics card over heating?
Can you take a picture of the card and the insulator installed?

The drivers with the card didnt work, and neither did the drivers from ATI's site. The insulator's made of paper, and i don't think it's over heating(it didnt feel hot to the touch)

I doubt the insulator has anything to do with it, I looked online and haven't been able to find any drivers for you, its probably a vista bug. Do you have a XP machine you could test the card in?

Well that would work if you don't have any non-vista computers in the house to test it on.
