According to Mod Ash, the Grand Exchange will be ready for release on Thursday.

Thoughts, anybody?

Personally, I would have preferred them improving on the trading post, but what can you do?

I think it should be in OSRS, if for no other reason that it will help the economy stabilize a bit and make it easier to get the resources people are looking for.

It provides good comic relief, at least! :D

There are some pros and cons as usual, the biggest pro I can see is that it will eliminate a large amount of scamming. If you want to buy something, you can put an offer in the GE and you know the Grand Exchange clerk isn't going to swap out your item for some useless junk!

In the two years I've played, I've seen very little scamming. We have the modern protection in the game (the giant flashing red marks) so generally, you notice if something gets changed on you.

The thing I'm worried about is the price fixing by Jagex, as well as forced inflation by merchanting clans. Comes with the territory, I guess. It's a mixed bag, but we'll have to see how the community does with it.

Isn't part of the hunt getting the great deal off of somebody who has so much money they don't know what to do with it?

Yep I'm perfectly fine with that (and guilty of it myself a few times!) but tricking people is a no-no. [-X
