Read about it here That's right, Old School Runescape will implement F2P on Thursday, February 19. Anybody have any thoughts on this? |

So something that was voted on years ago, where it did not reach enough votes to make it f2p now becomes f2p to try and get more people? and as I remember, still a lot easier to hack in old school than with the current game. Hello bots. |

I remember they saying with release that they would look at how the game is doing and decide if they should add anything from the vote. It's just opening up f2p areas (like RS3), so I feel like they're trying to promote Old School more (especially with the community growing steadily at this point). Personally, I can't wait to see how this goes. Supposedly, the bot issue is under control. |

The compromise is to put in bonds with F2P and open the floodgates for microtransactions. Old School accounts are easier to hack if/because they don't have Authenticator set up on them. |

I don't know if microtransactions will ever make it into Old School. I really, truly hope they don't. In my opinion, bonds are going to be sold to keep inflation down while eventually giving f2pers the chance to try a couple of weeks of membership. |
