Ok. We all know the SAT is a huge scam, and the college board is a compromised crap organization. But, I need to take it anyways. It sayd bring a calculator. Do I bring my scientific calculator, or my Ti84 graphing calculator?

When I took mine, I was allowed to use TI-84. I am pretty sure they still allow them.

Here's a fact from my own experience. If you drop out of high school and go to a community or 2 year college, you can take a placement test if you don't have a GED. If you have over 30 credit hours with a minimum of 2.0 - 2.5 GPA no university will ask for your High School Transcript/GED, instead they will evaluate your admission per GPA basis. The main reason I am saying this is because most people don't know about this.

Yup. TI-84 should still be allowed, but bring a backup calculator in case. It's supposed to be basic math (just up to algebra, pre-calc).

The test really isn't that hard. I took it twice and scored about the same both times (1800 with writing included, about 600 per section). It's not that hard of a test. It's just long, boring, and tedious. Just move as fast as you can. If you can't answer a question, move onto the next one and go back to it later. Bring extra pencils. That's all I can think of for advice.

Yeah, but Despite my grades; I'm not very good at testing. And it is a clear scam (to me at least)

Whether or not they are a scam, they are a big factor in getting accepted in to top universities if you are looking to do that.

Scam or not, you need it to get into college

I'd just do it like I did and take it twice. Also, take the ACT twice, too. First time can be a little difficult. Second time around, you'll have a better feel and should do better. Don't just take it once, especially if you don't do well on it.

It's a pretty bad test in terms of how well it measures student aptitude, and there are some glaringly easy tricks you can do do ace it. IIRC I only missed one question on the math section, and then the same with the math subject test.

Yes, I know. About 3 hours in I was somewhat coasting because if i tried to focus to hard my head would hurt......not fun, especially you have to wake up bright and early too.

The SAT only messed up my sleeping schedule further.

84 works just fine, it's what I have. I did badly because I stabbed myself with a pencil right before it started.
