So, i would take it that almost everybody here has heard about the massacre at a youth camp. Quote: A Norwegian dressed as a police officer gunned down at least 84 people at an island retreat before being arrested, police said Saturday. Investigators are still searching the surrounding waters, where people fled the attack, which followed an explosion in nearby Oslo that killed seven. The mass shootings are among the worst in history. With the blast outside the prime minister's office, they formed the deadliest day of terror in Western Europe since the 2004 Madrid train bombings killed 191. Police official Roger Andresen told reporters that the total death toll was now 91 and that a suspect was in custody being questioned for both assaults and is cooperating with the investigators. Though police did not release his name, Norwegian national broadcaster NRK identified him as 32-year-old Anders Behring Breivik and said police searched his Oslo apartment overnight. NRK and other Norwegian media posted pictures of the blond, blue-eyed Norwegian. Suppose to be another terrorist group, not a single act. but of course, as with the other terrorist acts in europe and 9/11 conspiracy. I was reading, that they were suppose to be having a drill at the time for something like this. So, whether or not that part is true. I am looking forward to seeing what conspiracy theorist have to say about how this happened. |

I have no idea how a man can gun down 84 people with nothing but a pistol before anyone manages to stop him. Don't think it's an attack from our friends in the middle east. |

He had a friend/partner who set of bombs in a city nearby I think, diverting attention that way. Also, the killings occurred on a very small little island, and police/army had to resort to using local peoples's boats to get across. ![]() |

Bombs first though so hes right in that it probably pulled officers away...however what i meant was if he shot 84 people...why did nobody stop him? Unless he had perfect aim you have to presume he missed a lot as well..a handgun holds what? I've no idea actually but it's not a lot. Now I know it's easy to sit back and make claims now but i like to think if i'd been there I'd have gone for the **** when he was reloading. Better than waiting for him to shoot me down. On the other hand maybe I'd be too scared to do ****. Guess it's hard to make such claims but 1 out of 80+...eh |

Also, he was dressed in police uniform, so there was uncertainty on whether it was the guy who killed your friend 5 minutes ago or a police officer rescuing you. Plus the majority of the people there were quite young so I think they all ran ******* into the water, poor kids ![]() |

He had some kind of M4, they were showing pictures of him on the news posing with this M4 that had all kinds of scopes and fancy schmancy gear on it. On the ammunition front, he said your message is more likely to be taken seriously if you kill a lot of people rather than one so I'm guessing he took a lot, as it appears he went in with the intention of performing some serious destruction of mankind. As for why no-one stopped him, it was on an island, so private boats had to be used. On the island, it was a camp for young people. For some reason, I think I've read somewhere that they were either young offenders or young people with behavioural/learning difficulties? I'm not sure of this though. And it's Norway so it's not really like the island would've been guarded, nor the camp officers have them because the island would've been cleared for dangerous wildlife and it's never happened before. |
