Okay now lets pick people's brain.

Genetically modified food, a very controversial topic that either makes you a cancer patient in waiting, or a tree loving hippie.

So if you were given 2 pieces of fruit, 1 fruit grown organically, no pesticides, growth hormones etc etc.
The second one, a completely engineered test tube fruit that after years of testing, they see no harm to eating it amd the creators swear is will be a piece of nirvana. Would you eat the test tube fruit?

(In the case of creepy, replace fruit with a slab of meat).

But on a more serious note, What are your thoughts on Genetically modified foods? Do you believe they are safe for human consumption, would not harm the environment etc etc.
But also, would you eat a GM food? Does not have to mean that it came out of a test tube.

I told Shane my thoughts on this a while ago, but I will wait until other people have responded to this thread.

Well, in my opinion I would at least try the genetically modified food (fruit or something). From curiosity. But I would eat for a long time the original food, which is grown without any pesticides and so on.

The idea that genetically modified food is damaging the environment is true. I remember reading an article about this. It was about bugs, which eat and live near the GM crops and then they can not be exterminated by any poison or toxic products. And usually, when they have so much power, they can destroy other crops. This is frightening, in my opinion.

One more thing about this, that I think GM food can start new diseases. Remember that bird flue? How many talks and how much time it took to make a vaccine. So this food can do something similar and we will have to wait and see people day until the vaccine is invented and to pray it could be invented.

Can't say I've heard anything about this stuff but if it's real then sure why not. Solves all sorts of problems. If it was safe that is. The only reason you wouldn't is if you was one of these hippies that thinks it needs to come from mother earth and if it doesn't it's somehow evil.

No it's **** not. It'd be exactly the same **** as you eat out the ground but you'd hear the same old story because mankind advances you get fools that refuse to accept we've reached a point in time where we're actually capable of controlling our own destiny and not some **** god that doesn't exist. We're the **** god of this planet.

I also hate people that insist on eating only organic. **** off. Your parents and there parents was eating this stuff long before you now suddenly you want it all natural? Like it **** matters. Enjoy paying your premium for no benefit.

If it's tested and it's safe I see no reason why you cannot eat it.

Probably over half of the food we eat is already genetically modified in some way anyways.

I'd eat it without hesitation if I had no other choise (like there's nothing else available or I'm not rich enough to buy real food), though if I could choose I guess I'd take the real food.

Yes I would. Why? Because the day humankind actually moves out in outer space there isn't going to be much of "original" around anymore. Food is simply fuel to our bodies, and I am not attached to any religious believes. We adapt to survive, and if not well you can stay here on Earth. :)
