To put it bluntly, no. I don't think driving around in circles is a sport or entertaining and thus I am not a fan. Racing in general doesn't peak my interest. In my mind, it basically comes down to who can put the pedal to the metal faster without destroying the car and/or themselves. But to each his own. Big week for you. d=(^_^)z |

Yeah...i never got nascar. I don't really get F1 either. Or Moto gp. Basically anything that involves going around a track for 30 laps or whatever seems a bit pointless to me. I think it's because there not very good spectator sports really. If your watching the top end stuff then usually it comes down to those that can cut 2 seconds off there lap time or whatever...that really doesn't transition well into exciting television or whatever. Just sorta makes you wish you could drive around at those speeds. |

The smell of rubber on the blacktop...*gets goose bumps* I <3 nascar! to anyone that hates apon the cars "going around in circles and whoever puts the peddle to the metal the most along with surviving" i would like to say it isnt the only way to win. Knowing were to break, to accelerate, to use the draft, which line to use in the corners and in the straights, and having team mates give you a drafting partner is what makes a winner. (if you dont know what a drafting partner is than look up "shake 'n bake" from talladega nights. thats sort of a crude way of what it is) It is thee sport.. the thing i dont understand is why people would like to see people carrying a ball down a field. You throw a ball to the other player..he runs it...If your amazingly fast then good..your teams gonna win =P When a person gets hurt it isnt interesting..its sad. (unlike wrecks in nascar that are like "holy crap he's in the air...COOL!") |

I don't care for NASCAR, even though I do like racing in general, especially racing games ![]() |

I don't understand 500 laps of left turns. At least F1 has track variance and the like. Car racing shouldn't just be about speed and endurance, but about maneuverability and control as well. NASCAR has a minimal amount of that, seeing it's an elliptical track which is pretty wide, and the only thing you gotta watch out for are the other racers. |

I love to watch some of Le Mans whenever I can, it's a mix on skill and endurance. |

If I wanna see some good racing, I'll go watch a James Bond movie. I find NASCAR extremely boring and pointless. |

(unlike wrecks in nascar that are like "holy crap he's in the air...COOL!") Lol yeah because all sports can be dissected down to that. Nascar is just driving in circles, foot ball is just running a ball down the field, soccer is just kicking a ball down the field, hockey is skating a puck down ice, baseball is just hitting a ball thrown at you with a stick, lacrosse just carrying a ball down a rink. Not really fair to dissect any form of racing down to its bones if you wont do the same to sports you enjoy. Whether car racing is a sport or not idk if you can argue that it's not just because it doesn't involve intense physical exertion... because it does involve use of skill, a person/team compete against one another, and its done for entertainment, which are also components of sports. I don't often enjoy watching any racing though... especially car racing because its like 4000 laps I much prefer shorter races like there's this drag race place I've been to a few times.. I don't mind that not something I'd follow on tv though. Generally racing is something I'd probably rather participate in than watch. |
