I ordered a coffee and a sandwich from a chain fast food place today. It totaled around $5.75. I handed the cashier 2 five dollar bills, and she hands me back the change as if I handed her $6. I pointed out her mistake calmly and got a rather rude response. She continued to argue with me as I asked to speak with the manager, who was not there at the time. She counted her draw to find it was way over the $4 (I wonder how many other people she screwed?) and told me if I wanted to steal their money I'd have to come back tomorrow so the manager can review the cameras. But enough about my rant, have you ever encountered or witnessed a situation like this?

not to me. nobody has tried to ripe me off in any place. although one of my friends almost did. back in elementary school there was a corner store where after school they would go to get a treat. one of my friends tried to get a sandwich i believe which was 5 bucks. he gave him 20 but got back only 5. it wasn't until the older man behind him said that it was a 20 that he got his correct change back.

Well, once I ordered something small and I payed with a 5 euro bill. When she took the bill she stuffed it away in the cash register and tried to get my change. But then the she looked up and said she could remember with what kind of bill I paid. She thought I paid with a €50 bill but she wasn't 100% sure so she asked me if I could remember it.

Yeah, one time I was at subway and got a water cup (I'm poor...) and the lady gave me a small drink, so of course I think, hey, I can put lemonade in here!
No, supposedly it was used as a water-cup but in a small drink cup.
So I calm pour out the coke and say sorry.
Next, a cop comes up to me and my friend and asks "Which one of you put the soda in the water cup?"
I said.... "Me..."
He goes, "Son, do you know you can be prosecuted for that? You can be put in jail!"
and I said... "It was an accident, sorry" - and he just stares at me for 10 seconds.
"Don't lemme catch you again!" - keeps staring...
So I say, "Sir, I'm sorry, but I'm trying to eat my food, you can go now." and with a quick response says "Watch youself!" and leaves....
What the hell?

It was a few years ago. At store at a mall. I bought a xbox game. Was only $30. Only bill I had on me was a 100. He took it and held it up at the light and told me it was a fake.
I complained how it wasn't a fake. and asked to see a manger. He came. did the same thing. And he said, that I was right, it wasn't a fake. ( last time I'll ever go the store )

Not as far as I remember.
Probably because I don't buy things much often since I'm a dirt poor. Plus, I wasn't really aware when they give me the money I should get, in the past. They could've rip me off a few bucks and I probably won't notice. Hopefully, I've become much more careful and observant when I interact with people. Whether it's shopping or not :D
To the contrary, there was a few times where he/she gave me too much money than I should normally get. Of course, sometimes I shut the hell up but I try my best to tell them when they don't gave me the right ammount. Yea, I'm nice like that.
The funniest one was when I bought my Yearbook. I came and asked for one. The woman got randomly distracted by somebody else while I was asking and she completly forgot to ask me the money. But because I knew her, I did tell her and paid it anyways. But I find it funny that I could have got away easily without paying.

I've had times where I ordered food, found I got something wrong in the order, but didn't take the time to go back and fix it. I just feel it's not worth the trouble. We're actually talking about this in ECON class right now. Marginal thinking...making small marginal changes to a plan of action. Basically weighing your options and deciding whether or not it is worth it to do something.

I was at school buying lunch (I was pretty sleep deprived), and thought I handed the cashier a $5 instead of a $10, so I told him he gave me too much change when he returned my money.
Kinda screwed myself over there :S

I went to Shoppers Drug Mart to buy some drugs jk anyways I think whatever it was totaled like $12 so I take out $20 (at least it looked green) and put on counter and she is like LOL UR GUNNA NEED A BIT MORE THAN THAT and I am like what are you even talking about? and I look down and there's a $5. So I'm like oh sorry and I look in my wallet and there was no $20 bill in it so I'm like ugh **** and look around to see if i I dropped it because I'm sure there was a $20 in there. Then the woman gets all ***** off on me as if I was accusing her of swapping a $20 with a $5 so I was like chill and just gave a $50 so not really a mishap.
Thinking about it, I'm sure I had $20 and no $5s, she probably did swap them lmao.

I ordered beef burritos at Taco Bell last Saturday and they gave me bean burritos. I ate them anyway.
