i worry about what corners they may have cut to build it. lets hope nothing happens to it. but i think if something bad does happen to it, you'll see in the news "CEO hangs himself at home"

I recall watching a documentary " China's Disaster " was about an earthquake that hit them a few years ago. and how few hundred thousand kids died. because their schools collapsed. and only the schools did, due to faulting building.
Soo... a hotel in 6 days. They sure did cut a lot of corners. But that's what you get living in a communist country.

That's impressive. I don't think they had to cut as many corners as you guys might suppose. They probably had a lot of workers and just worked as much as they could. Just cause it only took a small amount of time doesn't mean they necessarily cut corners.

They pre-built almost everything, it probably took longer than 6 days just to get everything prepared.

Yeah. It's a nice achievement still though. Not too sure I'd stay in it just in case.

Impressive, Our country's construction workers seem to take months to pave a road...

Yeah, but it's a nice smooth road that you will enjoy driving on.

You have to remember here that the way we work here is like this: 1 guy works while 5 men stand over him and supervise him. xD It is a nice road, it just take a really long time to finish. By the time your done, you have to start working on first part of the same road again.

Exactly our town has been trying to repave part of the highway. They have been going strong for 7 months. And all they have caused are headaches and traffic jams.

Not a problem reserved for the US, we have the same 1 worker to 5 do nothings ratio up here too.

Winter work projects as well - widening the roads just to put a damned flower planter in the middle of the road because supposedly it's "calming". Yeah.

honestly i wish they would fix the streets that need to be fixed. some of the streets have tons of pot holes and cracks etc. but they won't fix it. instead they fixed up a place that was still in good condition and i wish they would hurry up so there would be more parking space

Yah I know, our town spent 3 months last year digging up the roads to put in brick crosswalks to "beautify" the town? Good use of tax dollars I would say.... :x

That's pretty cool. Sure it was all pre constructed off site, but it would be nice if in the suture construction companies could just buy all their products pre built like that so it wouldn't take a year to build a product of equal value.

First off China can hardly be called communist anymore. It is an economically capitalist state.

Secondly, how would you know what corners they cut or if they cut corners at all?

This is a very impressive industrial feat that reflects on how efficient and powerful China's technology and economy has become. Disasters such as the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan struck hardest at the poorer undeveloped parts of China, which have not been completely modernized. You're essentially taking a hillbilly shack and using it to discredit the architecture and efficiency of China as a whole.

Not really putting China. as a country down. we all done something were not proud of.
You make it out like I'm discriminating them for being a communist country. I mean. " economically capitalist state " but to me. sounds like your discriminating the poor.
( that's the internet lol )

Your right, I really don't know China. but if you have not. I recommend that documentary.
