I've been seeing a lot of breif nudity (bra, panties, underwear) in ads for games. Such as this new one, Civony or whatever it's called. It shows a girl with nothing on except for like a sheet that's covering her breasts, but still showing her cleavage. I think it's pretty pathetic not to let their games popular on their own, and that they have to lure in old perverts or teenage boys with the women like that. It's degrading to women and it's really annoying for mature people like myself. I really don't like it. Do you think it's right for these people to do this? Tell us your opinion. |

It's been around for a long time. By showing a sexy girl playing a video or something they say that if you play this game, you'll find a hot girl playing it. And while 99% of the time its not true, it's perfectly legal. And if a person buys a game just for the reason, he is a moron. *** sells, it really does. |

It's basic selling, To be able to sell the product they need a role model to use. |

I've yet to find myself feeling an urge to play any of those games because theres some woman in skimpy clothing advertising it. And going by how I can't name a single game that has done that, all those that have clearly haven't got very big or popular so it doesn't seem to be working anyway. With all that said it's rather silly to let it bother you what with it being done everywhere; films, tv, magazines, newspapers, websites..it's all over. |

Sure I don't mind as while as the girl is hot. It's advertising they know more people are going to be interested in the game if they show a half naked chick. |

Do you blame them? It's proven in my opinion that nudity sells. They're only in it for the money they could care less about the players. The only games i know that haven't done that are all fps. and runescape... |

Sexy pictures and things alike brings attention to most guys (who also play video games a lot) It sells, and it's basic marketing. |

If it works, do it. That's all that matters. What guy in their right mind doesn't wanna see a half-naked hot chick? |

Not specifically naked but certainly scantily dressed and provocative sexuality on display targeted at a generally adolescent male player. Just a thought. But as has been said sexuality sells and it's the way the world works at the moment. It's certainly preferable to a return to Victorian moral codes. |

I dunno, the original tomb raider had a lot more going for it than sexual appeal and considering the game looked something like this; ![]() I dunno how..pleasing that would be to a guy. Certainly doesn't do anything for me. ![]() |

Most players are males. So the owners of the site/game will show a picture of an attractive woman in the ad to spark their attention. Its called smart advertising imo. |

if you don't like nudity what kind of a man are you, its obvious that *** sells and if you don't like how the system works how about you try making a game about a fat chick as a protagonist, most likely the game will flop. |

I never said that, I'm just saying if people want to see a naked chick they need to go to a different site, not a game's website. |

For starters, "double posting in the thread is not on". Look, it's the same everywhere u go. Everything and anything that can be whatched on television or played on television, has a classification in regards to the content that is being sold to the public. Now lets say, a movie was rated "PG-13". What classifiers do is they stretch that "PG-13" to it limits, within the law, and without causing upset. Just enough so they can sell it and not have the FFC (in australia, the code of television affairs) o0n their tails. Now when things that have nudity, It's self-integrity and the role of the parent that comes into the equation. Parents are often put under alot of pressure to buy games for their kids, teenagers etc. I see it all the time. Heck, i use to put the pressure on my parents. ![]() Thats all i got to say on this cheers, dafin0 ![]() |
