Uh yeah most of the time. One single time we got sent home was cause the heating crapped out. One time it was all blizzard like, the car slid out when we hit the breaks onto a busy road. XD Was crazy. |

The schools are always open here. Aparently in the US they close the schools everytime there is a "dangerous" amount of snow, which I've been told is very minimal (of course I can't be sure). XD On Wednesday was the first day of a Transit strike here, and there was also snow stormish so the plows were working all night to the point that there were no plows during the morning/lunch (as they had to sleep or something). So the transit strike would put many more vechichles on the streets, especially around the school with a large portion of the school using public busses, then all the snow and minimally plowed roads. Enough to close the schools/have no expectation of the students to come? No. Schools were open, it was to be a regular day. I suppose you can tell I have. |

Hah. If there's one snow flake on the ground before school starts then we don't go to school. I remember one year they thought there was going to be a big snow storm so they canceled school and it didn't even snow that day XD Warren wrote: Aparently in the US they close the schools everytime there is a "dangerous" amount of snow, which I've been told is very minimal (of course I can't be sure). XD That not true >_< Yes, where I live they cancel school with only a snow flake or a predicted snow storm, but that's just because I live in a place where it doesn't snow a lot. It all depends on the area and if snow is regular. |

Snow is not the main reason why schools get closed its due to freezing rain that makes the roads to nasty to drive on and unsafe |

I would assume that you'd only get a snow day if there's not enough teachers and/or if there's a "dangerous" amout of snow. That's not going to happen very often. |

That happens a lot. A bus crashed the other day (granted, it wasn't a major crash but it still went sliding off the road) and they still had school. Around here, there can be tons of snow. Unless it's blowing and creating a blizzard we're in school. |

I've had snow up to my knees and still went to school it really depends on how many snow days we can fit into our school year. ยง |

Earth271072 wrote: has anyone else here ever had a snow day but still had to go to school? i'm having one today.... ![]() earth Wait. That doesn't make much sense, a snow day here means that school is cancelled because of road conditions why would you have to go to school if it was cancelled? |
