yeah my car went pop. :(

i was driving back to san francisco for the weekend when i noticed that i was getting a little sleepy on the freeway. not like closing my eyes but bobbing my head a bit so i thought i better pull into a city and take 5. i got to redwood city when i noticed that my car was starting to overheat. i saw a best buy near so i thought i'll pull into the parking lot, maybe look around and let the car cool down. while on the street i heard my car go pop... and smoke was coming out... bad bad.

i went into a store to ask for help and they told me there was a shop about 3 buildings down. i pulled in and asked them to check.

this is what they found.

yeah the hose from the coolant to the engine burst.... lucky they fixed it in about 30 minutes and cost me (or should i say my dad) 80 bucks. so yeah... that was scary but honestly better to pay the money than have it burst on the freeway and get stuck. that might have caused an accident. i think somebody up there was watching me cuz first time i started to get drowsy driving home.

was there like 5 hrs waiting for tow-truck

be glad you didnt have the hood up with your face down there looking around when it happend.
your face would look like a bowl of grits right now.

what kind of car is that? everything looks small under there :shock:

you got ripped off if it was just the hose :o

gotta add labor but hey it's not like i could shop around. it's a 94 honda accord.

im not a car expert but i think hoses are pretty easy to replace, even 80 for labor was a lot.... but then again its California, im in Pennsylvania so things are a bit cheaper out here then over there....

yeah lol its held on by 2 clips i could change them out in about 3 mins.
but like he said, its not like he could shop around.
its insane how someone can charge that much for something so small.

its rare to see something wrong with a honda to :o

Its the so called business lol Hell If I got pop by an auto store I'd go there get that pipe for 10-20 bucks and replace it.

Wow, your lucky that it was pretty cheap to get fixed. If you would have kept driving that could have been a real mess

well i doubt i would have kept driving on the freeway if i saw smoke...
