Nothing to do with the fact that MySpace is "evil".

The wrong people are using it.

Come on, 13 - 14 year olds shouldn't be using it anyway. Especially when they add people they don't even know and become upset when they write negative things about them.

I couldn't give a **** if someone I have never met tried to insult me.

I agree with that, but a neighbour spying on them over the internet? Now nobody can be trusted

That's ridiculous "oh we're gonna get into this girl's personal life for our own benefit, then insult her so much without realizing any consequences" Terribly short sighted if they weren't aiming at trying to kill her in the first place.

On the other hand, after all the headlines from Myspace, you'd think people would be more aware when using it instead of taking their lives because their internet idol insulted them. It's just Myspace for crying out loud, you still have a life to live beyond the internet .. I guess she didn't consider that, along with all the people she'd be hurting with suicide, and how she'd make the story we just read.

Sad that you couldn't file any charges against the mother though. :|

That is something I don't understand. Why would one impersonate one's own human features to harm another? Better yet, on MySpace? God, what has gotten into the world today... This is why I totally disagree about MySpace. Why, it's just chock 'fulla lies. Sooner or later, news like this will be every day news, and will not be reported. Pity.

If they do take this to court, like they said in the article there are no laws for it so maybe it's unprecedented. Maybe some new laws will be made preventing sociopathic parents from abusing the internet.

That's really bad. Personally, I don't think I'd give a crap if someone was writing stuff about me. I found it sick that it was the mother of a friend. But taking your own life for that is too extreme.

Ugh... that's messed up.

Spoiler for what people should use mySpace for:

The song is based on the true story about how the band's (The Afters) former bassist met his wife. See, if happy stories were on the news, I'd pay attention :P
