Post subject:  The difference between Good and Evil?

I was wondering what really makes somebody good as opposed to evil. Are all people who get sentenced to life in prison evil? Are the people the majority finds completely heartless really that bad? Do we say a good person is an honest person? But nobody likes a snitch... As I think about it more the answer seems more unclear...

Please say your opinions to why some people are labelled one from the other. And by this I'm not thinking of one's personality but one's actions.

good is a perception and people who do evil deeds believe they are doing good because they are living in ignorance.

There is no such thing as traditional "good" or "evil". Life doesn't exist along a clumsy moral template, as much as people hope it does.

It's a matter of perspective. One mans evil is another mans good.

People can be both. I mean, someone who is evil may think they are good, as they believe what they are doing is right. There realisticly is no such thing as good and evil.
If I was asked to define good, I would say it was someone that helped people, and was looked up to in admiration. Someone that didn't hurt people.
However, some people would say good would be saving the world, no matter how many people it hurts and so on and so forth.

Evil is such a crappy term. I believe that badness is spoiled goodness. When we do bad things, we usually excuse ourselves from feeling the guilt of our actions by saying that our intentions are good. Stealing is a bad thing, but wanting to acquire wealth isn't. Raping someone is bad, but wanting to have *** isn't. I could go on with examples.

Evil is pretty much what isn't accepted in a society. I'm sure there's some examples but I can't think of any at the moment.

You're thinking this as much too black and white. There's no definite good or a definite bad. I believe people rarely do bad things simply because they enjoy doing bad things. But rather, alleged "evil" people are simply people who have been misled to believe that what they are doing is good or justified.

The only difference between a "good" or a "bad" person is simply up to who is talking.
