Just got hacked

Post subject:  Just got hacked
Well, i thoguht i could trust my friend, he was lvl 101. He asked me over msn to if i wanted to see some funny rs pics. So , i said yes. Turns out, it was a keylogger. He stole my account. Now i cant login, so if xxxkiller174 offers to give/sell anything, dont. Its not me.

I sent in a customer support thing, so hopefully i get my account back . If he took my stuff, i probably lost 4M+ in items and gp, including my full zammy whichi worked hard on. He erased all my recovery questions, so i cant even try to get back my account. The only way is with the help of jagex.

This is sad that the guy that did this is lvl 101.

dam yet another hacked player...whats going on!? suddenly i feel very unsafe. thats too bad u got hacked, i hope u havent lost too much and get ur account back. hopefully we will get erics little hacked club running and you could join that. bad luck mate

I dont know why this guy didnt just take my items and leave my account. Instead, he goes into my account offering to sell it back to me. WDF?

If i never get my account back (seems like i wont) then ill just have to train my pure ranger.

I have also lost my trust for high level players because of this.

I just saw him log on..
But how could he erase your recovery questions..
You need 14 days to change the recovery..
If you answer all your recovery right, you just get your account back immediatly..

Your recovery questions don't change for 14 days.... the old ones stay there for 14 days after you change them, and you can cancel the change when you log in if it wasn't you

Dude, if the file extension is not a pic extension, then its HIGHLY probable its a keylooger.

2 of my really good friends got hacked and one of them lost about 10M in herbs and pots(he had 99 herblaw)

Well, about the recovery questions thing, when I try recovering my password, It doesnt show anything. I'm sure i always had these set, but they dont show up.

Ps, does anyone know if the password query things actually work?

o man that stinks....i feel unsafe too my stupid cusin is trying to get his frends to hack me and give him most of the stuff im not sure if they can or not but im really nervous....

The password query doesn't really work..
BUT, if you get all your answer right, you automatically get your account back

the only way to stop a hacker that i know of is to log on check your location and stuff, and if anythings wrong, write down the ip in the pop up window, i learned the hard way :P

O yea! I got my account back! The password query thing does work, dont underestimate it.

This is what they wrote in my query:

Your Request Sent on: 4th April 2005
Message Status: Accepted on 5th April 2005

Your password was changed to the new value that you supplied, and your recovery questions have been reset.

You should now log-in via the 'Account Security' link on our front page using this new password and set some new recovery questions and answers to secure your account.


This is what i found in my message centre:

Woot! Once i can login again, ill post the guys ip so all of you can hack him!
