I've just finished reading the 7th book in the series, Snakehead, which was released just before Christmas. I must say this book is full of plot twists that keep you on your toes. It was so exciting I read it as soon as I came home from school! Horowitz uses such powerful description and never leaves a paragraph without detail. I honestly feel as if I'm witnessing what Alex is going through on every journey!

If you haven't read any of the books, Alex Rider is a 14 year old boy from London who one day was approached by a Special Operations service called MI6, only to find out that his Dad and his Uncle had worked for them, but they had both died aswell as his mother.
MI6 recruit Alex as an undercover child on 5 separate missions, with an extra from the American CIA and Australian Secret Intelligence Service in the lastest book titled Snakehead.

Spoiler for Snakehead, the last book of the series:

Alex Rider's godfather, Ash, is found out to be the one who blew up the plane Rider's parents boarded on their way to France. Ash had been a member of Scorpia ever since his plans failed in Malta!

If you haven't read any of the series, the author is Anthony Horowitz and the first book of the series is called Stormbreaker. I recommend all of the books to you!

I love the series. I've read all of them up to Arch Angel (it's either the 5th or 6th book).

I've read the first 3 and thought they was decent enough.

Might take a look at the newer ones.

Yeah it might seem like it ended at Ark Angel, but it really didn't  Probably the best book I've ever read.

What the hell? I thought he got sniped and died at the end of Scorpia.

They shot him above his heart, and he survived.

Yeah. They made it sound like he was dying, (and I thought he did) but he lived.

Yeah, they're good books, kinda felt like that was coming in Snakehead though. Read better, but I enjoyed them a lot.

I know! He is such a great author, exploring what Alex is going to do before he writes it is just pure genius!

If you really enjoy these books and would like something that is slightly more mature try the CHERUB series  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CHERUB#CHERUB:_The_General

Ooh, I like those and Alex Rider. They take a bit longer to come out in the US though :(

I haven't managed to get ahold of Snakehead yet, but if it's anything like the other books I think I'll enjoy it.

Good books , I've read all 7 and seen the film . I think kids should read this rather than Harry Potter , that's just over hyped :P
