Well, people define the word "colour" differently. In art, and just when normally talking, we use the word "black" instead of saying "really dark grey". So, in informal terms black exists as a colour.
Real black is really just a theory. And when I say "just a theory", I'm not saying it in a dismissive tone. It does exist, but we can really only imagine it. Some people say that since we can't see true black, black isn't a colour. It's all semantics. It's.. "in the eye of the beholder".
