What i mean by that is things like this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=yhJV1OE8VCY ![]() ![]() ![]() Recently theres been adverts for the film "300" on DVD showing up in R6V and other games. The question is should game developers be allowed to advertise within there games? We pay full price for these things and then they put advertising in our faces. Is that right? Is it ok as long as it fits within the game world? What? |

I think it's ok, as long as they're just part of the landscape. Not like loading screen adverts. |

I think it's fine if it's not annoying, doesn't effect the games performance, and is in a place that it makes sense. |

I dislike game advertising. Make the game free and then advertise all you want. People paid full price for the game, not to watch some ads about some new show on History Channel. |

It doesn't seem right, but it doesn't hurt anyone. And it's just part of the map, not like a flashy, in-your-face kind of thing |

On Burnout Takedown, as your driving round, there are billboards everywhere advertising games such as Battlefield 2 and FIFA 06 |

I completely agree. Often times, in-game adverts are just so that they can get "pocket money" off of it. If I pay to play a game, I want the game in its entirety..not some advert-filled POS game. |

I think it's perfectly fine. I know in the old NHL games that came from before online time they'd have to put in a certain ad that would remain static for the entire time you owned the game. Now with this they really can update them by means of the net. It's not making you wait for content. It's just sitting in the background as if it was real life. I just view it as making it more realistic. That's what I want with my shooter games. The only time I'd have a problem with it is if they make you wait to start the game with an ad... |

See, my view on it is idon't mind in game adveritsing. As long as it fits within the game world. Now i own rainbow six vegas and it has in game advertising. And i've heard a rather weird rumor, that theres an advert that comes up on one of the boards for the british navy. ![]() Now why would a casino in vegas be advertising the royal navy? XD Another point, i've already payed them for the game. So any money they make from advertising should go towards the game itself, i know XBL charges you at times for extra content, well, if a game is advertising in game, that money should go towards the content to make sure it stays free. I see it as acceptable then. Gears of war actually got the discovery channel to sponser a map pack tokeep it free on Live. That is the only reason i see in game advertising as being justifiable. |

Honestly i never even noticed the real world adverts in R6 till a few days ago, we was winning an attack and defend and had a good 10 minutes to spare, the other team wasn't puttin gup much of a fight so i was just amusing myself and noticed this 300 advert. XD I then went on to shoot it. ![]() I don't even really believe advertising in games has an affect, i for one didn't notice it till i got a bit bored. All the same, i stand by what i said, if there goingto adverts, any downloadable content should be free. |

On the single player version of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, they have a big AXE ad that I saw. As long as the Ads suit the game and don't ruin your performance I'm fine with it. |
