What to you makes a good manga??

For me, it is either lots of action, and a good storey line (Dragonball+z)
Or mystery/suspence (DeathNote)

I also like RL mangas like Continental Confessions

Well, a certain degree of believability is good, i don't like super powered 13yr olds who save the world from 90ft tall aliens with a million tentacles all while keeping their abilities a secret and keeping up to date with their homework.

Saying that, i do like fantasy themed animes and mangas, violence is fun too.

Just.. don't get carried away. The main character should always have a weakness. And shouldn't come back to life if killed from the power of love. bluuergghhh.

I like anime/manga set in present time with lots of action.

(NOT like Naruto with the endless flashbacks)

Try Bleach and Deathnote. If you want to try in a more fantasy universe try Claymore. It's pretty violent and cool. Don't worry, Claymore's main character has weaknesses :P

You're talking about British book series, not manga. :-s

FMA and Death Note are the best mangas alive. (FMA anime is alot worse though) So let's say, humor, some fighting scenes, violence and a good storyline makes it in FMA atleast. Death Note is just plain awesome, no need to explain that.

I like stuff set in fictional worlds, but with no dragons/over-use of magic/elves.

Good storyline does it for me. Doesn't need to have action or super powers or any sort of violence.

I like Love Hina 8)
