I don't think they are, really. Most of the time they just gather inaccurate statistics so one politician can shove them in another politician's face.
Non-political polls are fine though

Depends on what kind of polls? I think for the most part they are. If you really care how something is going about, and you want to make a difference than you will vote in the poll. If you dont vote, then ***** and complain, then you should really shut up. For the most part, yes they are a good thing. |

Only when people justify what they chose and why, really helps the whole discussions value if people say I chose this because of this. Not just I chose this. |

Polls do help with things where you need some basic statistics, like in my thread here, but when you really want someone's detailed opinion on something, they're a bit terrible. Unnecessary polls I dont like, but if it helps the thread, there's nothing wrong with a poll. |

Polls only help when lots of people vote. You can't prove something by a poll with 2 votes. |
