Post subject:  My skateboard...

Hey, I just started skateboarding yesterday, and I was wondering how my board should be, atm my board is really wonky at the trucks, my board tilts alot and I'm not sure if that should be happening. Please tell me what my board should look/feel/be like. I want mine designed for flatland skating.

Also, if you can give me tips on skating. Cheers!

Edit: I tightened it and all, the thing is, ive ripped the rubber just underneath the bolt that you tighten your trucks with. its completely split in half on one side.

Well you could tighten the trucks, that might help.

Some people prefer it loose, depends on your style. Oh and your board should look/feel and be like YOU want it, has to be comfortable for you. Tip, er lean with the board? That's what i first got told. XD

Not much good asking for tips online though.

Well since I was just starting out I bought a cheap $30 one. I'll post an image of it soon, they were taken on my cell-phone so quality wont be too great. Ty for tips though, and I'll tighten my trucks because when I turn, if my feet are hanging off they scrape against the ground.

adjust it to your personal preference, spend a day or two just adjusting the trucks and trying it out then see what you feel comfortable with

That would be the kingpin...You over-tightened it. As a note: learn what the parts of a skateboard are before skating. XD

My skateboard used to fit your description before I tweaked it. It felt much better.

Actually the rubber part is called a bushing, the kingpin is the actual bolt.

Why not buy new trucks...Or the damaged parts... I used to skateboard but I quit after my $150 skate board snapped in half on a ramp.

Better off practcing these things standing still first..then moving onto doing it while moving, at least that's the way i learned.

Isn't exactly the same but yeah..take it a step at a time. XD

If it's flying out from under your feet infront of you, lean forward a bit.
If it's going behind you lean backward a bit.
Just don't lean too much or you risk falling flat on your face =/
