When I had a job, I used to donate part of my paycheck to the German Red Cross, but I've not donated anything in a long while (since I don't have any sort of income coming in). What about you all though. Do any of you donate money to charity? If so, what charities?

And, if you don't give to charity. Why not?

No. Why? Cause i know if the situation was reversed they'd most likely not donate to me, so screw them.

Rarely anyone in this world does anything for anyone so why should i, bugger them all.

edit: I'll make this clear here and now, i could write out a big essay and make anyone qouting me look stupid but i wont.

You don't know me, i do not care about your opinion on me and i can gaurentee the above message you do not understand me properly on because i've not taken the time to exlain myself because i don't feel the need to, all you need to know is i don't donate to charitys.

Unless your on my msn list and unless you talk to me on a regular basis then your opinion on me is worthless, cause you haven't a clue what i'm like. Also i feel the need to add onto the original post, i actually support charitys for cancer, red cross and so on, just not ones for homeless people, drug addicts, drunks and so on because to me, it's there fault, there problem - if you don't like that, i don't care. Donate double if you feel so bad.

Your message was off topic and pretty much a flame bait to me.

Read the edit in my post and stick to the topic.

When my school brings a donation thing up, I donate $20. Only $20 since I have no source of money... except allowance... which I think I stopped recieving. If I had a job I probably wouldn't donate more often, but I would donate a larger amount when the school brings something up. I probably would donate if the charity came to me,though.:P

I give to some charities. But I will not give to homeless because most likely they will spend this money on drugs or something else.

That's true but i try to be a good person day to day, not by giving to a charity for a bunch of people i don't know a few times a year. I'm not out to insult people and i've already had to remove one comment because someone couldn't handle my stand on charitys.

At the end of the day it's my money, i earned it and i can choose to use it on what i want, at least you and MQ can at the very least respect that fact and understand i don't -have- to do anything and just because i don't doesn't make me some monster. XD With any luck others will respect it as well.

Ok saying you earn't the money and that you can do what you want with it would have been fine IMO, but saying "screw them" wasn't called for.

I know you don't know these people or care about them, but there was no need to say it.

Also where you said you don't support charity for drug addicts etc. Thats fine because its their fault.

I was talking about children in need and thats what I thought you were talking about as well.

I don't actually give to that either, especially not the ones that give it to other countrys. Children in this country, i'm all for it but they all seem to want to give it away and i'm not about to throw money at another country when ours has it's own problems. I don't see africa giving us anything back for all the charity we've given, in fact i don't even see that charity being used to improve the country.

And no, sorry. If you get yourself hooked on drugs, screw you. If you become addicted to alchol then screw you. They get what they deserve and they get no help from me.

Nah I'm not the type of person that gives alot...but when I know its for a REALLY good cause I do. Like I bought this Halo shirt called "Fight The Flood" for Katrina victims. And recently I donted $50 to one of my good friends family because of a severe car crash.

I used to a little, but not anymore. I don't like the fact that a lot of charities claim to be "non profit" organizations yet most of them take a percentage of your donations to cover "costs". In my opinion it shouldn't be that way, 100% of any money I donate should get to the people that need it. Not 80% or 66%, all of it.

I know I'm gonna get shouted at, but I'm with Creepy on all this. Donating to Africa isn't gonna help any of the UK or the US, all we get is a small hole in our pocket. I can understand our own countries as its our population going down the drain, also causing the economy to fail.
I know from past experiences, charities like Oxfam only give a part of the donations they get to the people in need. I remember hearing about one of their spokespersons accidentaly mentioning 'funding them'.

One final thing, I DO GIVE TO CHARITY, but only ones like Comic Relief as you get to wear a cool red nose xD
