Well that just sucks. I always enjoyed watching them in action, unfortunately never saw them in real life. Sucks to see a pilot apart of the best of the best go down though.

They do have Emergency release in there but it may have happened way to fast so he didnt have time, or there was malfunction with the system.

yes they do, they can eject from the plane, and then there parachute deploies, but when he deployed his he floated back down into fireball from his plane...

Chances are a bird got sucked into the engine, unlikely as it is. While performing sharp maneuvers, having both engines working is vital.
