Post subject: | My Day(Long Post) |
I'd like to tell you about my day. First of all I will explain the new Co-op thing I am in for school. To get in it you have to be at least 16 to sign up. I was 17 at the time. In a regular semester of school what I would do is go to school for 8am and get back for about 3pm. For those regular days I wake up at 6am, have shower, eat, walk dog, etc. and catch bus for 7:20am. And I would be at school until 2:30pm and I'd get in the door of my house at about 2:50 pm. Now with this Co-op I don't go to school for this semester. I work for FREE (NO PAY), but instead I get 4 credits to me graduating high school. So for now I wake up at 5am. Do the stuff I would normally do on a regular day, plus get my lunch ready(my school is downtown so I eat there). I get my gear that I need for work ready and accounted for. I then leave my house at 7:10am to catch a bus at 7:15am. After reaching the terminal I have to wait for the second round of buses to come so I can take my second bus. I then finally at about 8am to about 8:10am arrive at my work. I then work until about 5:30pm and leave at that time. I then catch the same bus I took to get there to get back home. And I usually get in the house at 7:30pm. Now for what my job is: I am a framer for the next 3 months or so. A framer just simply put is a guy/girl that builds the frame to a house. I am at the point right now where I am the gopher. Now if you don't know what I mean by that split gopher into two words.(go-pher) I've also been doing the real easy work that they don't want to do. Like putting up backing, nailing in joist hangers, carrying lumber around from one spot to the roof. There was a pile of 200 2x4's(standard piece of wood) each of them being about 9 feet in length. The pile of wood was cut at the wrong length by the lumber yard. So what I had to do was move that pile of wood, by hand, to one point to be cut proper length and to another point after it was cut. And I am not finished with that wood yet. Later on he (John my super)wants me to move the pile of wood to the second floor of the house so he can build the roof. I've also carried many 2x8's at 14 feet in length. Lots of 2x6's at 8 feet. I don't like the working world. Anybody else have similar job? Or just have a long day at work? And now I shall stop typing. TUM |

TUM I go to a very similar high school, i get up and go to"work" for school, i run and work on construction equipment for half of the day and the other half im in class. |
