http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17708169/ I think this is stupid... I am pretty sure there are other countries who are not wealthy enough to buy Flu Vacines. I think that they shouldbe giving then to countires who are suffering from the flu, and at not able to recive vacinations. This really sickens me how we can be so wastful, while other are suffering. |

That's just sickening. I can't believe that that's happening. I hope they realize it's a huge mistake and donate it to the places that NEED them. It shouldn't be, "If we don't have it, no one should have it." |

I don't think you guys understand how flu shots work. Basically, flu shots are developed each year based off of a new strain of the virus. They cannot just be saved for the next year since they will be ineffective against the newer strains that cause the flu. Also, different countries have different strains of the flu. These old flu shots are not a "one size fits all" and neither are flu shots in general. They're based off of popular strains that infect the majority of a country-- the strain that is popular in X may not help people Y because of differentiating strains. Vaccines must be destroyed upon expiration date for the health of the population. I see passing leftovers off (which may or may not even be useful to them) as sickening. Provide a stable number of vaccinations to the population, and produce enough to distribute internationally. |

doesn't matter if they save it by next year viruses mutate and will be immune to the shot and they'll have no choice but to make a new one. all this is is well just a waste of money. |

How can you make 10 million more than what you need? I mean, how can you not estimate more accuratly? Common, 10 million? |

I think the shot is useless now, when i got mine for the fire department i got a flu mist, they shoot it in your nose like nose spray, much more nicer then a shot. But still a shot, at least sell them to another country or give them out free to American citizens. |

It said out o 110 million. That's like taking 11 lobsters for your friends in the wild, just to find out that only 10 of the lobsters are used (yeah, lame example o.O). |
