Post subject:  The Secret

I heard at dinner tonight, which I eat with my family. Not in front of a TV. That Oprah Winfrey is somehow involving the documentary The Secret in one of her upcoming shows. Now I just want to say that I have known about the secret since it's near release since my mother is part of the Scientific and Medical network so I get a lot of interesting information. Anyway, now that she is going to talk about it, all her god damned worshipers will follow suit then rave about it like Opera users.
No offense MOTV.

I have already told a particular someone who's head is not filled with sludge about it, since the rest of you will probably through pixelated rotten tomatoes stolen from the Duel Arena for suggesting something so absurd.

The Secret is all about the law of attraction and how thinking influences our life and how we create our reality. I recommend you purchase the DVD it as could change your life if you are not an impatient Scorpio/retard.

Well, when there's no real evidence, you don't really have a choice but to be skeptical.

Gotta question these things over blindly following them. :P

There is no real evidence for god but so many people believe in him. I don't want to bring Religion into this but it's a good example.

Well, in fairness the tables could be turned. You believe in this book that really doesn't list proof, but you don't believe in God? What's the difference?

For a start I never actually said I believed the law of attraction works. I am rather pro to it since it doesn't involve any real personal sacrifice apart from maybe $20. All it requires is thought, which for most people shouldn't be too hard. The difference being that God doesn't ask for money or believe what I say or I'll hurt you.

You value monetary sacrifice over personal sacrifice? Nearly all religions, at their base, require their followers to be free-thinking individuals. I see no difference between buying this book for $20 or putting $20 in a collection plate. In the end, claiming that putting your mind to something will fulfill all your wishes is as indecisive as saying that believing in God will get you to heaven.

That's about all I have to say about that. If you would like to continue this, you can PM me.

Im personally a "see it to believe it" sort of person. But it sounds interesting, I'll have to look it up.

And just a side note, why must people insist on bringing religion into everything? -.-

I don't particularly see why this should continue as a PM conversation. It hasn't spiraled out of control like most arguments I get into.

But I would just like to say that the main piece of evidence towards the law of attraction are placebos. The mind thinks it's better, therefore it gets better. You were right about religion, but what some have turned into is pretty bad. I don't see any personal sacrifice here at all?

The only thing I will have to say is at the end of the day, one of us will be proved wrong. Because there will always be people who won't accept something even when the evidence is right in front of them and the people who will follow something blindly.

Ok, it is proven that your mind does control what you see, ect. This is the same thing that your mind sees what it wants to see. What you think will litterly become your existence since your mind control your perceptions, what you see, hear, ect. Anyways...i dont really see a use for bringing in religion..the 2 really are not related.. as per the whole thing with God with the "If you dont worship me Ill hurt you" or wtv...um..its called the Crusades and the other 1/2 dozen wars based off of religion, lol. Thats my 5 cents :p
