Things you learnt in runescape may come in handy in real life. What I'm mainly focusing on is merchanting. I thought up of a way to make money through the exchange of currency. Using a trick I learnt while merchanting Furys, which involves switching currency to make a profit, I came up with the following idea. In Runescape. 1 Death rune = 18 Tokkul Person1 sells death runes 250 each. You need 16666 death runes for 300k tokkul. You then spend approx. 4m on the runes and change them into 300k tokkul, then buy an uncut onyx(Then get a 90+ crafter to trade a fury for it). You sell the Fury for the current street price.(Currently 5m now.) Walk out with 1m profit. In real life. *I'm using my local currency and USA's currency. Store1 exchanges SG$2 for US$1. Store2 exchanges SG$2.20 for US$1. Basically I exchange SG$200 in store1 for US$100. I go over to Store2 and exchange back US$100 to SG$220. Walk out with $20 profit. *I believe this belongs in non-Runescape because it concerns real life more, because you real money is better than pixel money. |

Heheh, RS has a few historical tidbits in it. Like in Burthrope, the people there are all named after characters form Beowulf. Plus, there are a few minor tidbits about religion and ancient cultures stuffed here and there. I wouldn't say any of that has affected me irl though. It'd probably affect younger people. |

I too can make profits, all leanred from RS merchanting. "buy low, sell high". I buy cases of pop for $3.99-4.99 ca, which includes 12 cans of pop. That's 33-42 cents a can. I sell the cans of pop $1.00 ca each, making a 58-67 cent profit per can. I live in a well populated community, which allows me to sell fair quantaties of pop, resulting in good profits. And the job is simple enough. I sell roughly 110-120 cans a day, going around house-to-house. Approximently $50-80 dollars ca a day I make, which isn't bad at all. |
