Mr. Giuliani announced he was filling papers to start looking at him running for president. This is great news to conservatives, he is my man for president in 08. Your thoughts on Giuliani and i wanna see who you think the next president of America will be.

Any president that will run is better than Kerry. Seriously, he said, "Hey kids, go make good grades. If you don't, you'll get sent to Iraq!"
My God, lets not insult our country's armed forces or anything[/sarcasm]

But back on topic, I think Giuliani would be a pretty good man for president. He pulled New York though alot of hardships after 9/11.

Personally, i'd like to see a duck lead.

Seems like the best choice right now, tbh.

He shouldn't be president because of that scary scary smile.

Can't you just elect someone like me, just to run the country sensibly, and not look like an utter retard?

Wikipedia article on Giuliani wrote:
In 1999 Giuliani threatened to cut off city funding for the Brooklyn Museum if the museum did not remove a number of works in an exhibit entitled “Sensation: Young British Artists from the Saatchi Collection.” One work in particular, The Holy Virgin Mary by Turner Prize winning-artist Chris Ofili (a Catholic himself), featured the Virgin Mary next to elephant dung and female genitalia pictures. It was targeted as being offensive to some in the Christian community in New York, leading the artist to comment that "This is all about control."

In its defense, the museum filed a lawsuit, charging Giuliani with violating the First Amendment right to freedom of speech. Religious groups such as the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights supported the mayor's actions, while it was condemned by groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union, objecting to the mayor's censorship and interference with the first amendment rights of the museum. The museum's lawsuit was successful; the mayor was ordered to resume funding, and the judge, Federal District Judge Nina Gershon, declared that "There is no federal constitutional issue more grave than the effort by government officials to censor works of expression and to threaten the vitality of a major cultural institution as punishment for failing to abide by governmental demands for orthodoxy."

So, Kyle, just wondering since you didn't provide it in your post. What are *your* thoughts on Giuliani and why do you want him to be president besides the fact that he is conservative?

I, personally, am neither Replublican nor Democrat though my views are usually liberal. As such, I don't plan on letting the party of the member determine the position of my vote. I don't believe, however, that Mr. Giuliani would be an appropriate candidate for my vote to go to. One of the main reasons being the fact that he believes in censorship. As an artist, writer, and intellectual I have the intelligence to note that censorship accomplishes nothing while merely limiting. In the hands of the wrong individual, censorship proves a dangerous weapon. (Those that have read 1984 will understand what I mean here)

This is my opinion on one aspect. Accept it or disagree with it but whichever you choose to bestow upon my opinion, respond with intelligent resoning and response.

Matt, i can understand why you wouldn't want Giuliani, i can some liberal views but but not many, I do believe in censorship, as do most conservatives, i mean should i be able to post adult material in a little kids book, or stand in class an yeal profanity. I will vote for Giuliani for his views, if he was liberal i would still vote for him, On 9/11 he was the only politician at ground zero, he wasn't giving rally speeches he was working with a shovel in his hand with his fellow Americans. He may have some crazy ideas for America but there are senators in the senate right now who believe blacks shouldn't be allowed equal rights. Matt your a very smart person and hope i haven't offended you.

That would be a different situation than a picture in a gallery. If you're in a gallery generally you are not at the age that you still read children's books and therefore is a different medium.

To speak as if the allowing of a colored individual to have equal rights of a caucasian individual would be a "crazy idea" will offend me even more. As well as offending me, I'm quite sure racism is not legal.

Just curious, is it because she is female? Clinton is a very moderate Democrat. If you don't want her, I don't think you would even want someone like Obama.

He's right, though. I know someone whose uncle commands some US troops, and that didnt even know how to reload their weapons.

And the things you see on British news all the time... (not american news, oh no), about how the US troops have been blowing up newly-built schools, killing British journalists (and other nationalities), loads of things like that.

I dont care who the next president of the US is, as long as he gets his troops out of Iraq, signs the Kyoto agreement, and stops acting like the world's policeman.
