Post subject:  Cooking Mishaps

Well yesterday I tryed to make Pancakes for the first time. The whole mixing of the ingredients went just fine. The mix went into the pan Ok. Then....came the flipping, nearly half the the pancake went off to side and the other half actually made into the bottom of the pan. So I then had a pan with sides made of metal and pancake. And it took hellova lot of elbow grease and patience to get the encrusted pancake of the side of the pan.

I'm posting this cuz I want to know if it's just me or that there are other bad/clumsy cooks out there.

I need to practise making more pancakes.

I've clocked up like 3 kitchen fires in my time. Lmao

It's not just you. The most common thing to happen to me is i head out to check on whatever i'm cooking and it's comming along nicely, i head back out 2 mins later and it's burnt to the crisp.

Annoying as hell.

I can proudly say I have been making pancakes for 2 years, and can do it quite well :)

I can also make bread from scratch...

Cook muffins, cakes, lasagna, casserole etc.

Roast potatoes p00n the lot.

But my dad is the best chef in our household...

Well, I was a terrible cook, so my parents made me go to this cooking class with the most evil-est chef, but I still learned a lot about eggs!

I can make simple things and follow instructions from cookbooks, wouldn't consider myself a good cook. But I can get by.

i learned how to make pancakes. after you mix it all up pour it in the center and spread it around, don't flip it until bubbles form in the center. then move your spat around so nothing sticks then flip it over. you're not a bad cook.

last christmas, my sister bought some cookie dough to bake, but she got lazy and never bothered with it. a few weeks later i knew it was going to go back so i decided to bake them. i followed what it said and baked it for 5 mins i think in the oven. now keep in mind, my family is chinese... and baking cookies is not something my family has ever done. hell i'm the only one who even uses the ketchup.

well anyway 5 mins later i took a chop stick and poke at it and it was still soft! so i thought it wasn't done yet. so i waited 3 mins more. suddenly it started to turn back so i took them out. i put the rest into the freezer cuz well... i din't wantto waste it. a few mins later it cooked and that's when i figured out that it has to cool down to get harder. then i baked the rest with perfection. only 4 were very black :D

They are as follows:
Scrambled Eggs
Sauages
Mr Noodles
Frozen Pizza
Grilled Cheese sandwhichs(my Fav)
Few others to.
