yes, finally.. for those who have known me for awhile.. Have known that i have always had one stupid peice of crap 5yr old dell computer..

Its well, how can i say it, on its last legs. The hard drive makes weird sounds as i shut it down. It has an 800mhz processor running only at around 500mhz now.. stupid thing.. It may have 512mb of memory, but thats the sdram running at a 100mhz.. wowzers huh?..lol a 20 gig hard drive that is slower than my brain.. <--- now that is saying something.

Upgrades i did to it were the memory, a dvd-rw/cd-rw drive, burns a full dvd in 8minutes man.. and, a 64mb vid card..

KK now to the point, my present to myself, is, (drum role) a new pc.. after taxes, its like $550.. It has a amd 2ghz 64 bit processor with 1600mhz(1.6ghz) front side bus (fsb). 128mb nvidia vid card. 512mb ddr memory, 80gig 7200rpm drive, dvd-rw/cd-rw (basically same as the one i have), hmm what else, all the other basics, like 8-1media card reader, 4-6 usb ports, sound card, nic card. Comes with 1 yr warranty on parts, and software, phone and on site servicing (dont need it cuz i can fix it myself). Windows xp home edition sp2 (i want pro though). + a whole bunch of other software.. I hope that is good for $550 :P

Im paying for it myself, since im working currently.

Also another item i want on my goodie list is a 30gig apple ipod that plays mp3s, displays pictures, plays movies + more..

Umm.. well i was bored, just thought i would share that with everyone :P
Im pretty happy about it. Stuck with this dell pc for 5 yrs running windows millenium, constantly having errors and such.. So yeah im thrilled to have a new pc coming.. cuz also i love computers :P


EDIT: oh yeah, comes with keyboard, mouse, speakers etc, and a 17inch monitor, flat panel.. not a bad deal

amd makes great processors, i had never heard of them until i got my laptop, paid full by me :P , and it works very well

Your flat screen will most likely die in... 3 months. :P When buying monitors, the more expensive ones have better quality but last for a shorter amount of time.

Anyways, I built my own computer for about that much, also. It's better, though. (You pay them so much for labor costs XD) Except for the fact that mine is a 32 bit which I'll be upgrading soon.

All in all it's pretty good for what you payed, though. Do you have any lights in it? :P

Second Edit: AMD is better than Intel. :O I've got an AMD also.

hmmm.. well i hope i didnt say it wrong.. its a regular crt monitor, but flat panel, like a flat screen.. but a crt flat screen.. thats what i meant :P

If i do upgrade to a lcd flat panel, it will be a 19 inch, 6ms respone time, and prolly a good brand like view sonic, i can pick up one like that for around $200-$250 at certain places.

The pc im buying is pretty good for its price.. i would prefer to build my own.. but, i dont have enuff time to really build one.. and i priced all the parts on this one, + software + warranty,, and this is a cheaper, better deal.

Sounds like a pretty nice deal. Just about a month ago now I bought a new motherboard and processor to upgrade my comp. It runs fine now.

That video card sounds good also. Have fun with it. :)

Ah, I see what you mean now. Yah, you did say it wrong. :P That's the type of monitor I have. It cost me 5 dollars brand new at a surplus store. :P (Don't spend too much on your monitor)

Awesome. My birthday is January 5, maybe you could hook me up with a new comp? My comp is a piece 'o crap too, its like a Athlon xp 1.5mhz or something like that. Its fast and stuff, but it just breaks down too often.

If i do buy a computer, it'd be from magicmicro.com (really good deal, like 1gb of ram, 250gb hdd, athlon xp 3400+, etc) all for under 900$$.

Anyways, hopefully that computer runs better than mine.
